Pros: Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness, Ease of Opening, Handle Feel, Blade Material
Cons: None
Aggressive design, rock solid construction.
I don't use a knife everyday, but I carry one every day, without fail, because when I do need one, I like to have one. This one has become one of the few favorite edc knives in my rotation. This knife can do just about anything you may encounter, and it is built industrial strength tough. Perfect one finger opening, very fast, and extremely solid lockup. Wickedly sharp right out of the box, very high quality; substantial feel overall. I had previously bought an RJ1 from KnifeCenter about 3 yrs. ago, and was similarly impressed with it, but it is maybe just a little bit bigger than I personally need for edc. This one is just about the perfect size, pretty much unnoticeable clipped to my pocket. And its impressive shape and appearance may score some points, if that is a factor for you. If I were ever to lose this one, I would immediately replace it, before it becomes unavailable. And I gotta say, KnifeCenter service is impeccable, as always. I am, and will continue to be, a steady repeat customer.

First assisted EDC = great knife!
The RJ II was my EDC for well over a year. It was my first assisted-opener and as such, I wasn't sure what to expect. What I got was a razor-sharp knife out of the box, stylish, felt great in my (about average-sized) hand. SpeedSafe opening was wicked fast, a very satisfying "snick" when opening. Locking mechanism is solid. The RJ II seemed a bit heavy (heavier than I expected) but very solidly made. Honestly, I don't know much about the quality of steel and have very little experience with different knife steel, but what I can comment on is the steel on this knife kept an edge for the entire year and a half that I had it without sharpening. I said this "was" my EDC. This is only because I ended up losing the knife while out hunting this fall. I was devastated. In looking around on the internet, I found KnifeCenter carried this knife for even less than I paid for it, so I'm ordering one for myself, as well as one for my brother for a Christmas present. This will be my first purchase from KnifeCenter, so I can't speak to the experience of ordering, shipping to Canada, or service - yet. The RJ II is a great value at MSRP and KnifeCenter's price is significantly less, resulting in a great value EDC. I'm buying two for myself in my order so that if I lose this one, I will not be without for long.

Surprisingly Comfortable, Wicked Fast
This is my first assisted opener and it has become my favorite for EDC. It looks blocky but is actually quite comfortable in the hand. Never worked with an assisted opener before and wasn't sure I'd like it, but now all my knives with thumb studs and holes in the blade spend all their time in the drawer. The blade was razor keen out of the box and touches up nicely.
