Pros: Locking, Overall Quality, Included Tools
Cons: None
Will serve you well
Carried this knife before the new handle for thirty years. Used it in the Navy and as a Stagehand never had a failure. Passed it on to my niece who has been carrying it for ten years.

Pros: Pocket Clip, Weight, None
Cons: Handle Material, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel
OK but plenty of annoyances
This knife is OK but its designers have missed so many points it hurts. Literally. It hurts because the inner edges of the handle plastic cut into your arm. Seriously, they could have milled it just a tiny bit and make it less painful. Now I have to get sandpaper out and do it myself. Second annoyance is the jimping - I would be OK with it, but it's jimping opposite to the serrator. Why on Earth would you need this? Jimping is OK if you want to use your knife to sharpen a pencil. Makes sense, actually. But you've got a serrated blade on the other side, totally unsuitable for this! Third nitpick is the locking mechanism. Plenty of issues here. First of all, the click sound when you open the knife is loud enough to wake the dead. So why call it covert? Nothing covert about it apart from the fact it's black. And then the 'patented' safety lock. First of all, you shouldn't really have this concern, but if you do, I'm sure there are better way to get this done. Gerber's safety lock is clumsy: if you forget to set it, you've got a tiny bit of metal from this lock sticking out and, though it won't hurt you (probably), you CAN get your finger caught on it. Another thing: sharpness out of the factory was pretty bad, but sharpness on the serrated part is abysmal. Quality control, Gerber? Overall, this is a very clumsy attempt to make a supposed military-style item. The only upside I can think of is that Gerber ships the knife with the back edge ready for sharpening, so at least they thought of that. But I don't particularly care for the knife - it feels badly designed and a little cheap too, to be honest.

Great Knife
I am a technician so this knife is used for many different purposes. From day 1 I have not given it a break and it has not let me down yet. The ease of one hand opening and blade sharpness are a winner.

Pros: Lock Type, Blade Material, Lock Ease of Use, Handle Material, Overall Quality, Handle Feel, Ease of Opening, Blade Sharpness
Cons: None
This is a fine emergency reserve knife. Reasonably good balance. So far just for cutting cord. But I use cord to go around the wrist which enables to swing between over and underhand in a flash. Keeps an edge reasonably well and the handle is in my opinion comfortable and solid. I like the locking system, very secure
