CKFTREKOZA: Alexey "Ratatuy" Konygin Trekoza Flipper
Custom Knife Factory

Custom Knife Factory might sound like an ambiguous name but it's definitely one worth remembering. Their knives are mid-tech by definition but the quality definitely borders on full custom. They have a CNC machine shop in China that does a lot of the leg work but all the hand fit and finishing are done in house in their Moscow shop. They use top of the line materials made in the USA and designs from some of the most talented knife designers in Russia.

The Trekoza is another unique design from Alexey Konygin that highlights all the best that Custom Knife Factory has to offer. It reminds us of a cross between the Rabbit and Decpeticon 2 models from a couple years ago as it's a slim folder with tons of reach. It has superior, lightning fast flipping action, excellent fit and finish, and a cool look you don't come across every day. It's a large yet extremely lightweight design that carries very well and everything about it screams use me!

The 4" double hollow ground sheepsfoot style blade is made from M390 stainless steel with a brushed satin finish. The handle is made from clear polycarbonate over heavily skeletonized titanium liners to keep the weight as low as possible. The pocket clip, in addition to the overall look, is what we really like about this design. It's a milled titanium clip that functions like a spring clip being very easy to get this knife in and out of the pocket, so it's the best of both worlds. The Trekoza features a ceramic bearing pivot system, compact yet very functional flipper tab, and the handle is comfortable yet large enough for any sized mitts. It's definitely tactical in nature but the relatively thin profile, extremely light weight, and ultra-fast action make this a stylish EDC knife for those preferring larger knives. It's another awesome piece from Custom Knife Factory, limited production of 400 individually numbered pieces.

Outstanding design and value
This is a superb knife, and a real value. I own more expensive knives, many of which come no where close to this fit and finish. The action is great, and the knife is very aesthetically pleasing - terrific feel in the hand.

Incredible functional art
I have used and collected knives for about 30 years. I do not write knife reviews very often. CKF does not cease to amaze me with their designs and manufacturing and this knife is no exception. It is my third CKF knife and will likely not be my last. Everything from ergonomics, blade geometry, blade steel, fit and finish is top notch. The polycarbonate is a refreshing choice for the handle scales and the blade design makes for a fantastic and practical everyday cutter. The pocket clip on this knife is "soft", much like the clip on the Tegral and will not tear up your pants but bare in mind that it has a less secure hold, some people may not like that. If you are thinking about buying this knife, do not wait too long because CKF seems to do limited batches of knives. You will not be disappointed.
