KnifeCenter International Shipping Charges:

We Ship Around The World!
We ship most of our products to most countries in the world using FEDEX and USPS Expressmail. Most international FedEx packages start at $29.95 US ($24.95 US for shipments to Canada) and increase about $3-4 US per pound of weight. Some areas may be more. USPS Expressmail small packages ship for $36 US and increase about $3-4 US per pound of weight.

Our Liability
Shipping items around the world can be risky for a number of reasons. First, the cost of freight is high. Customs can confiscate items, and things can get stolen. In order to be able to sell to customers around the world at the same low prices, we have to insist that the purchaser assume responsibility for loss in transit. We will insure packages and file claims where applicable. Claims for Fedex shipments that are lost or damaged in transit take approximately 10-14 days to process. Claims for USPS shipments that are lost or damaged in transit will be processed 30-45 days after the package is shipped. Purchaser will be reimbursed once the payment has been received by Knifecenter.com. Also, return and replacement shipping costs for warranty issues must be paid by the customer.

International Credit Card Payment
All International Credit Card Orders are subject to verification. We will contact the issuing bank and verify that we are shipping to the billing address listed with the credit card company and that the telephone number given with the order is correct. If we are able to verify that we are shipping to the billing address listed on the credit card, we will most likely process your order. Otherwise, we will require prepayment via a certified bank draft (check) drawn in US Dollars.
EXCEPTIONS
We cannot accept credit card payment for international orders with swords, batons, and/or automatic knives. The only way we can ship these items internationally is if the customer prepays with a certified bank draft (check) drawn in US Dollars. The customer assumes all risk involving customs as well as complying with local laws regarding these items. We cannot accept credit card payment from Israel because of customs issues.
Due to irregularities concerning Cadivi issued credit cards, we are no longer (as of Oct. 2007) accepting charge orders from Venezuela.

Customs Issues:
International orders are shipped at the customer's risk. By placing an international order, the customer assumes all risk of confiscation en route. If customs should confiscate or return the merchandise to us, the customer is still responsible for all shipping charges including return shipping charges.
Also, we are not responsible for VAT, customs duties and other taxes. These must be paid by the customer directly. We charge only for our shipping costs. The cost of return shipping of any package returned because of an incorrect address will be charged to the customer.

Canadian orders:
Canadian Orders are shipped via FedEx. Small packages cost approximately $24.95 US. Additional charges will be added for insurance (over $100 US in value) and heavier packages. It is approximately $3-4 US for each additional pound. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS, DUTIES, AND TAXES. THESE MUST BE PAID BY THE CUSTOMER DIRECTLY. WE CHARGE ONLY FOR OUR SHIPPING COSTS.

DUTIES AND TAXES
All items entering a foreign country are subject to customs inspection and the assessment of duties and taxes in accordance with that country's laws. Customs duties and taxes are assessed, generally, if the merchandise is dutiable and the value of the item is above the threshold set by the country's laws. If duties and taxes are assessed on an item mailed via the Postal Service, they are collected from the recipient. In addition, for most countries, there is an administrative fee that is collected from the recipient to cover the costs of clearing the item through customs and collecting duties and taxes. For instance, the administrative fee in the United Kingdom is 11.25 British pounds for Expressmail; in 23 countries in Europe (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Monaco, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, San Marion, Vatican City, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Andorra, Gibraltar, Sweden, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein) the administrative fee is 17 Euros for Expressmail and the administrative fee in Canada is $5 Canadian.
If you want to learn what the threshold for duties and taxes is for a particular country, you can go to www.wcoomd.org for general information or visit the Web site of that country's customs service.
