My name is Matt, I'm a father, husband, and a full-time Firefighter in Arizona. When I was 8 years old my Dad gave me my first knife right before one of our camping trips, since then I have been using and collecting knives. In 2012 I was looking at knives/makers and stumbled across a knife that I really wanted to purchase but the price was out of my range at the time, which got me thinking about the process of making my own. Like most things in my life once I get an idea in my head I have to learn more about it and try to accomplish it in order to stop thinking about it. After doing a ton of research and somewhat successfully making my first knife I slowly started to buy the tools and material that I needed to produce higher quality pieces. I learned the craft of knife making by researching material and tools online, examining pictures, trial and error, and of course a lot of practice. I got the hang of it pretty quickly and with the support of my family, friends, and all my Instagram followers I have managed to make this a part-time gig. I love the idea of building something from nothing that will be around forever. Every knife I make is slightly different which makes every piece truly unique. This journey is about making art, enjoying life, and meeting great people along the way.
