Andre De Villiers Knives Mil-Spec Harpoon F17 Flipper 3.875" N690 Satin Blade, Black Stonewashed Titanium Handles
ADVHARPOONF17MS: Harpoon F17 Flipper, Mil-Spec
Andre De Villiers Knives
The Harpoon is a tactical flipper from Andre De Villiers that might be his most refined design thus far. It has elements of the Butcher design that came before it but the addition of the second finger groove and thumb ramp in the blade make for the stellar ergonomics, much like the Hummer model. It's smooth, fast, sharp and stout—really everything one could want in a tactical blade, and can easily flex into EDC, hunting or survival tasks. The Mil-Spec Harpoon has a 3.875" harpoon spear point blade made from N690 stainless steel with a brushed satin finish. The F17 version has added a fuller, traditional of ADV's knives, for the 2017 production version. The handle is made from black stonewashed titanium with a matching sculpted titanium pocket clip.
The titanium lock has an integral lockbar insert/overtravel mechanism that provides solid lockup while being very easy to disengage. The pivot point, though, is what sets this knife, and all ADV blades, apart from the others. It has an inset Torx screw that fits inside the pivot, allowing you to tighten down the pivot while adjusting the centering or overall smoothness of the action. The action is very smooth, to say the least. Jimping on the redesigned flipper tang and thumb ramp are sharp and functional, nothing was overlooked for this awesome design. The right-hand reversible milled titanium pocket clip of the Harpoon has been redesigned to allow for better retention in thick pant pockets and incorporates a rolling ball design for an easier draw. This may not be your typical looking knife, but get it in your hand and you'll definitely warm up to the design thanks to all the great features it has and the fact that the action is on par with even the best flipping designs in the industry.

Semi-Custom or Mid-Tech knives are knives produced by a process in which the designer has more direct--but not complete--involvement; parts of these knives may still have been made by others.
N690 is an Austrian steel with adequate hardness and superb corrosion resistant properties. This a great steel for use around marine environments.
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
A nonferrous metal, it's prized for its high strength to weight ratio and is often used on higher end knives.
