Andre De Villiers Knives Hummer Flipper 4.25" S35VN Blasted Simulated Hamon Blade, Gold Titanium Handles with Carbon Fiber Inlays, Blasted Hardware
ADVHUMSHGD: Hummer Flipper, Gold Simulated Hamon
Andre De Villiers Knives
The Hummer is another superb, ergonomic flipper from Andre De Villiers. It's easy to see why people love AdV knives so much, besides the materials of course. The fitting, attention to detail, feel, action, and just overall looks are second to none. This Hummer is absolutely a knife that will highlight any collection or become your go-to carry piece, if not designated as a safe queen. The hollow ground drop point blade can be opened ultra-smoothly with either the jimped flipper or thumb slot, made from S35VN stainless steel with a bead blast simulated Hamon finish.
The stonewashed then gold anodized handle is the same robust sort of shape as the Butcher design but is definitely more ergonomic with the finger grooves. It has small carbon fiber inlays strategically placed on the knife to accentuate the look. The milled backspacer, pocket clip and hardware are bead blasted to complete the look of this excellent flipper. The pivot point, though, is what sets this knife and all AdV folders apart from others. It has an inset Torx screw that fits inside the pivot, allowing you to tighten down the pivot while adjusting the centering or overall smoothness of the action. The action is very smooth, to say the least. The pocket clip is made from milled titanium and it provides a confident and secure carry in the pocket. When you think of mid-tech knives and the quality the designers strive for, this really is the epitome of overbuilt smoothness right here.

Semi-Custom or Mid-Tech knives are knives produced by a process in which the designer has more direct--but not complete--involvement; parts of these knives may still have been made by others.
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
A tougher steel than S30V, it retains the excellent corrosive properties and ability to take an edge, but improves on the ability to hold that edge.
A nonferrous metal, it's prized for its high strength to weight ratio and is often used on higher end knives.
