Andre De Villiers Knives Mini Harpoon Prototype Flipper 3" N690 Black Stonewashed Blade and Titanium Handles
ADVMHPROTO: Mini Harpoon Flipper Prototype
Andre De Villiers Knives
The Mini Harpoon is an everyday carry knife wearing a very appealing tactical cloak. It's a great utility size but is feature-laden with aspects of a true combat knife which might make it the perfect EDC. It flips open smoothly, locks up tightly, possesses exceptional ergonomics, and is jimped in all the right places. Pick one up while you can because, as with all ADV knives, production will be limited until Andre moves onto the next exceptional design.
The Mini Harpoon has a 3" harpoon spear point blade made from N690 stainless steel with a black stonewashed finish. Like the F17 full-size version, this miniature model has a fuller which is traditional of ADV's knives. The handle and pocket clip are made from milled titanium with a black stonewashed finish to match the blade. The titanium lock has an integral lockbar insert/over-travel mechanism that provides solid lockup while being very easy to disengage. The pivot point, though, is what sets this knife, and all ADV blades, apart from the others. It has an inset Torx screw that fits inside the pivot, allowing you to tighten down the pivot while adjusting the centering or overall smoothness of the action. The action is very smooth to say the least. The right-hand reversible pocket clip of the Mini Harpoon has been redesigned to allow for better retention in thick pant pockets and incorporates a rolling ball design for an easier draw. It is marked with Prototype on the inside of the backspacer which means you'll have one of the very first Mini Harpoons in existence.

Semi-Custom or Mid-Tech knives are knives produced by a process in which the designer has more direct--but not complete--involvement; parts of these knives may still have been made by others.
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
A tougher steel than S30V, it retains the excellent corrosive properties and ability to take an edge, but improves on the ability to hold that edge.
A nonferrous metal, it's prized for its high strength to weight ratio and is often used on higher end knives.
