AMMS2K: Mini SERE 2000, Satin Blade
Al Mar Knives

The SERE 2000 is world renowned as one of the strongest tactical folders in existence. Now made in a smaller, more compact model, the Mini SERE 2000 is built to the same uncompromising standards as the full size SERE 2000. Originally designed by Al Mar and Colonel Nick Rowe in the early 1980’s for the U.S. Army’s SERE school, today’s updated models are stronger, lighter and the most precise versions ever made.

The Mini SERE 2000 features pillar construction, flow through design and a top-mounted reversible Deep Pocket Clip for discrete carry. G10 handles provide plenty of traction with a flared front end ideal for combat grips and thrusting. Dual thumbstuds open the blade easily and a solid liner lock keeps it open. The VG10 drop point blade is useful for more than just combat with a flat grind for slicing efficiency and a deep swedge to aid in piercing, delivering the kind of performance you need in the real world.

Since 1979, AL MAR Knives has been committed to making unique designs at quality levels that rival custom, hand-made knives. Today, each knife crafted by AL MAR is hand-finished and hand-sharpened by craftsmen dedicated to creating the very best possible product.

An edc for the rough part of town...
If you want a compact, extremely durable and beautifully made tactical folder for edc, look no further. This little knife inspires confidence. It feels great in the hand, and I have some fairly large hands. The pocket clip puts the knife as deep in your pocket as possible and keeps it there. Blade deployment is smooth and fast. I just like looking at it.. It is very visually appealing. A winner from Al Mar..

Pocketable Security
I'm not a tactical knife person, but I enjoy owning and carrying a dependable tool that performs its job well. The Mini SERE exceeds my every expectation in both obvious and subtle ways. The blade is the sharpest I've ever experienced - ready to shave with. The frame is incredibly solid - built like a bank vault. The heft, at about 4.5 ounces feels just right and the handle nestles in my hand like it was made just for me. At 3", the blade is serious but still legal to carry in many states. Fit and finish are absolutely flawless. And it looks like what it is, a no-gimmicks serious cutting tool for all occasions.
