Al Mar Knives
The Shiva is an original Al Mar design and it is the first Tactical fixed blade we've ever made with a laminated VG-10 stainless steel blade. Laminating the VG-10 between two layers of 400 series stainless steel increases the lateral strength of the blade by upwards of 30% and does so without increasing the weight or bulk. The Shiva has a beautiful tapered tang, contoured and polished black Micarta scales, satin stainless guard and a full grain traditional leather sheath in black. It is one of the finest quality tactical fixed blade Al Mar has ever made.

Absolutely the finest fighting knife I carried in Afghanistan and Iraq
The quality and workmaship are phenomenal. Edge retention is superb and aesthetically it is just a beautifully made knife. I own Randalls, Busse, Darrel Ralph and Matsuda fighting knives and the Shiva stands alone. Go to a show or knofe store and pick one’ll be sold.

Nope. Returned.. Not worth the money AT ALL
Listen, when you are pushing upwards of $300-$400 for a knife you can do wayyyyyyyy better than this crap. Knife arrived, it was pretty ill say that. But functionality is nowhere. A combat knife should either be stonewashed or coated, having a mirror polished knife in a combat situation is not wise unless you are a Samurai or a Swordfighter in a battle. I'm lost for words regarding how over priced Al Mar knives are. I simply don't understand. I can get a fixed blade in S30V even CPM REX121 for less than this..Al has a lot of nerve charging this kind of money for such a simplistic knife. AL MAR suggestions from serious collector regarding SERE and Combat knife.1. Get rid of these smooth handles. Switch to Micarta, or something with better grip. Smooth handles that are polished on a combat knife is boarder line stupid.2. Switch to S30V or M390 or REX 121 for knife steels. 3. Stonewash or coat these. LOWER YOUR PRICES. $400+ for this is insanity. Pure insanity, unless you are looking for a pretty paperweight or wall piece for you office.

GREAT KNIFE!!! Ignore "Acidburn"
Extremely well designed and made knife. I like the sheath but it does have a design flaw as stated. I have used this knife hunting (field dressing deer and boars), camping and just carrying on my hip day to day working sheep and cattle at my cousin's ranch. This knife has done everything I asked of it and still looks and cuts great. Keyboard warriors like "Acidburn" sit in their mom's basement and buy Cool stuff that they never use and act like they know something.... Pay no heed. This is a Incredibly INCREDIBLY well designed and made knife that is unbelievably light in the hands.
