AR06810: Bunker Hill Sword

The Bunker Hill Sword was designed in memory of the battle of June 17, 1775, when William Prescott commanded 1,500 Colonials in a bitter-fought defeat that showed commands from both sides that the rag-tag Colonial Army was capable of standing its ground against the British ranks. Oddly, the battle did not actually occur on Bunker Hill, but on nearby Breed's Hill. This Revolutionary War Sword features a 24" carbon steel blade, brass handguard and pommel, and is complete with leather scabbard with brass fittings.

Pros: Blade Material, Usable, None
Cons: Handle Material
The cap nut at the end of the grip was not as pictured nor in character of a sword of that era. They cheched their stock when I called about it - all the same - and offered to take it bark if I wanted; which I did not as it in all other aspects served its purpose well.

Not as great as I would have hoped for but...
I do American War of Independence (American Revolutionary War) Re-Enacting. I required a sword as I had recently become an officer. This sword looks quite nice from a distance. The blade is pretty decent as well. The hilt and guard are VERY nice, though not for anyone with large hands. The leather on the scabbard is pretty decent too. And hey...for the price...you cannot beat it.Now for the bad news...The scabbard did not fit when I first received it...though in time it has now started to fit better. The brass fittings on the scabbard feel a bit cheap and flimsy but so far I have had no issue. Also not 100% period correct.Overall, for someone without a lot of money, and a hobby such as mine...definitely a usable piece, and looks quite nice hung up on a wall or at your hip.
