Description
AR224127: Reproduction 19th Century French Cutlass
Denix

The Cutlass was a short slashing sword, ideal for the close-quarters battles aboard sailing vessels. Generally regarded as a pirate weapon, the cutlass was, in fact, issued to the Naval personnel of many countries, and this piece by Denix replicates a French naval style of the early 19th century. Excellent for maritime re-creations. The blades of Denix daggers and swords are cast from a metal alloy and cannot be sharpened, making them safe for display in family environments.

Pros: Overall Quality, Usable, None
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard
Great Wall-hanger and Backyard Fun
I hang this on my wall for decoration and use it to practice. The blade is obviously not sharpened with a good 1 mm thickness on the "cutting" edge, the tip is still pointy so some care should be taken. My sword balances about 6 cm from the guard, which is great considering these swords were intended for chops and slashes and not so much finesse. The black part of the scabbard is plastic so don't think you can use it to block anything - really my only complaint for the price. If you want something to abuse and practice saber techniques I would recommend trying this sword.
