Bastinelli Creations

Bastinelli Creations takes functional tools and boils them down to simplistic, useful designs with a little bit of style. They're known for their Dragotac folding knife with its versatile flat ground Wharncliffe style blade and oddly shaped, yet wildly ergonomic handle. Many of their designs utilize this blade shape but all feature exceptional ergonomics and top of the line materials. The Picoeur was a tactically designed backup fixed blade you could conceal almost anywhere on your person. It had a small scalpel-like blade paired with a thin handle and pinky ring for maximum control during CQC maneuvers. The Pika is a Karambit version of the Picoeur and the compact, concealable tactical tool to have in our opinions. You can carry it around your neck or on the belt and the knife includes a belt clip attachment for carrying horizontal on your person. It is manufactured by Fox Knives in Italy, designed in collaboration with Doug Marcaida and Funker Tactical.

This little thing is expertly designed.
First things first, let's address some issues that makers never really touch upon: the finger ring. All my life, it has been a problem for me to find a karambit that fit comfortably on my pointer finger. I wear size 15.5 ring on that finger. This little savage comes very close. I would say that if I had to estimate a "ring size", for the finger hole, my best guess would be that it is approximately a size US 15 in ring. I hope that helps anybody who had a question about that. Now, onto the construction, steel, and fit and finish. The construction of this thing is amazing. The sheath that it comes with is completely awesome. It is made of Kydex, and it clicks in with such retention that it will never shake loose. That is an impossibility. The construction is very well-made. It is all one piece, and completely solid. What I will say about it, is that it is a lot lighter in weight then you would think it is. When I got it in my hand, it felt like there was nothing there. This little guy will do maximum damage, and you're barely even notice it in your hand. As far as the steel, which you'd N690Co, which is a stainless steel, it has amazing and retention. It keeps a very nice fine edge, but it reminds me very much of S30V steel. It's very tough and durable, but as I said before, lightweight and wicked. This is probably not an EDC blade, for average tasks, but I would definitely state that it is an EXCEPTIONAL EDC blade for self/life defense.Lastly, I would like to comment that the designer, Doug Marcaida, a lifelong Kali practitioner, and friend of another karambit master, Tuhon Ray Dionaldo, did an amazing job designing this. You'll know Doug as one of the judges on History Channel's "Forged in Fire". He also does a lot of work on YouTube for the FunkerTactical channel. I strongly recommend that you watch and listen to some of those videos, because this man knows in great detail what to do and how to use a karambit, and he designed one of the most perfect ones I've ever seen. That's coming from someone who has over 40 karambit, including some "great" ones. This is a 5-star item. I strongly recommend it. The only thing I'll warn you about is that it will be a very tight fit if you have beefy hands, but it won't take anything away from it's effectiveness.

Fantastic Knife
This little karambit seems to punch way above its weight for cutting power. I'd seen videos on YouTube of it cutting, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I did some testing after receiving it just now. It comes factory with a razor edge, and it parts meat like no other. I've not had it long, but a cursory wear of the kydex sheath while sitting, standing and walking around my home leads me to believe that I won't notice wearing it. The fit of sheath to knife is incredibly precise, I cannot shake it free in one hand but can remove it easily when it is on my belt. The whole knife weighs next to nothing, and at least for my hand fits naturally.PROS: Everything. In addition to being an effective self defense tool, the blade is small enough to justify carrying for tasks like opening boxes, cutting rope, etc. Hard to say how well it would weather such use, but cursory research online shows N690 Co has a good reputation for wear.CONS: I've never sharpened a karambit, so I might have difficulty sharpening and maintaining the blade. The steak I was going to eat for dinner is now being tasked for stir-fry instead. (I got a little overenthusiastic in testing it out)

Lethality at it's best!
This is a very concealable deadly little karambit. Top-tier construction throughout. If you want the best I would suggest purchasing this little beastie.
