Boker Plus Exskelibur II Frame Lock Folding Knife 2.75" D2 Stonewashed Blade, Black G10 with Stainless Steel Back Handles - 01BO138
BO01BO138: Boker Plus Exskelibur II Frame Lock Stainless Steel
Exskelibur by South African designer Mike Skellern has been a fixture in Boker Plus' collection for years. Several variations have been released. The titanium frame lock is particularly popular due to its flat design. Since these knives consist of premium materials and are thus priced at the upper end of the scale, Boker developed a version that replaces the titanium with a stainless steel frame lock, while retaining the same flat design. The front scale is a self-supporting G10. The handle and the flat ground D2 blade have a practical stonewash finish suitable for everyday use. The Exskelibur Frame Lock Steel is a true utility knife. Includes a reversible clip (tip-up/right).
D2 Tool Steel
With a chromium content of 12%, D2 — a tool steel — can certainly be classified as a stainless steel. Since its chromium content is right on the threshold, however, a little more care for the D2 wouldn't go amiss. As an upper-tier conventional steel, D2 offers great edge retention and stability, though sharpening it takes a little effort.
