BO01BO890: Boker Plus Nori Folding Knife, Black G10
Boker Plus

The Boker Plus Nori is another elegant gentleman's knife designed by the Japanese knifemaker Kansei Matsuno. The slim build and lightweight construction of the Wasabi were combined with the practical front flipper and sturdy liner lock of the LRF. The VG10 blade on ball bearings has a particularly fine lengthwise satin finish. The handle scales are made from textured G10 mounted on stainless steel liners. The clean design and classic Japanese blade make the Nori an ideal knife for everyday use. Comes with a milled pocket clip and a leather lanyard.

This is why Knife Center is superior to Blade HQ
The marketing text from Boker deliberately misleads people on the country of origin of this knife. It explains how it teamed up with Japanese knifemaker to create this "traditionally inspired" Nori folding knife. What it leaves out is that the manufacturing takes place in a Boker joint venture QC'd OEM factory in the People's Republic of China. That doesn't matter to many people, but it does to some, including me. I came across this knife at Blade HQ, which obscures country of origin as a matter of policy (unless the manufacturer includes it in its marketing material), and neglected to check Knife Center before ordering it. My mistake. Don't get me wrong -- there are some fine Chinese knives that compete proudly in their own right, such as We Knives, Harnds and others. This is different -- it is a knife masquerading as Japanese when it is most certainly not, and Knife Center is alone among retailers of this knife to print the truth in its description. Its inherent deception aside, the knife is okay, priced at what most VG-10 flippers are but without the requisite discount, to which we are all entitled, for its Chinese OEM pedigree. Mine is the copper-handled version, but is otherwise identical to this listing. Fit & finish are very good overall. The factory flat grind on the VG-10 blade is geometrically flawless but it is not particularly sharp. It flips open easily. The liner lock seems less substantial than it should, but it holds well enough for now and, should the knife stay in its presentation box (adorned with "Made in China" in large print on the sides), it will certainly last longer than I will.
