BO02BO018: Boker Plus Nessmi Pro
Boker Plus

The compact Boker Plus Nessmi Pro got its name from the American adventurer George W. Sears (1821-1890). He lived on the East Coast, publishing books and magazine articles about life in the wilderness under the pen name Nessmuk. Honoring his idea of making outdoor gear as light as possible, the Danish knifemaker Jesper Voxnæs developed this particularly compact version of the Nessmuk Knife. The knife sports a full-tang build of D2 that is great for outdoor use, hunting and everyday cutting tasks. Layers of red fiber under the handle scales of brown Micarta and the delicate satin finish of the leaf-shaped blade create visual interest and give the Nessmi Pro an extraordinary look. Comes with a handy leather sheath. The characteristic hollow rivets do double duty as a lanyard hole.

D2 Steel
With a chromium content of 12%, D2 – a tool steel – can certainly be classified as a stainless steel. Since its chromium content is right on the threshold, however, a little more care for the D2 wouldn't go amiss.

A real winner
I will readily admit to being a Nessmuk knife fan, but this variation is a really nice knife. I think it will make a great small fixed blade EDC knife. The finish of the micarta scales and the tang steel is smooth and perfect, It came perfectly sharp. The handle is very comfortable for a small knife. The handle is very similar to the older Boker Plus Pocket Bowie, but this knife is even better. The sheath is noticably better than another Boker Plus classic, the Rambler, which had a really cheap leather sheath. The leather is stiff, and I'm working with some leather cream to soften it up. I really really like this blade, and the only way I could say that they could improve it would be to add a plastic/kydex horizontal belt sheath for appendix carry (like that of the CRKT Minimalist line). It would be perfect with that kind of carry. I'm planning on buying a second before they come to their senses and jack up the price.
