BO110626: Boker Oberland Arms EDW Tactical Folder
The Boker Oberland Arms EDW tactical folder is beauty and beast all in one package. The canvas Micarta scales are artfully crafted and contoured to provide and excellent grip. The stonewashed N690BO blade is 3-3/8" and paired with the titanium liner lock has a lot of cutting power. It also features a deep carry wire clip reminiscent of many Spydercos which can be reversed for left hand carry. An overall excellent looking and performing knife from Boker.

Oberland Arms is a German manufacturer of high quality sporting and tactical weapons of type AR-15, which are characterized by their high precision, and whose objective is to offer only the highest quality. This premise strongly coincides with our philosophy, therefore we suggested a joint venture. We closely collaborated in creating a concept that represents the essence of a tactical knife. The massive titanium plates, with a thickness of 2.5mm, provide outstanding stability. The contoured canvas Micarta handle scales provide excellent grip, even in wet conditions, and feature a drilled center groove which enhances the grip and safety. The RST (Reinforced Spearpoint Tip) offers incomparable stability, due to its special geometry, and underlines the sturdy design of the knife. The resistant stonewash finish of the N690BO blade completes the package. The reversible pocket clip can be adjusted according to the thickness of the pocket hem. This bulky yet compact knife is a reliable, multifunctional tool for any cutting task, whether it be for work or everyday use.

Boker hit a home run with no fanfare
I only found this knife by searching for micarta handled folders, as I love that material and prefer it over anything else. I hadn't seen any real discussion or reviews even after finding it. This is baffling to me because it is an amazing knife. The action and lock up is on par with my Fallkniven PXL. Smooth as butter and rock solid. In fact I prefer this knife over my PXL as it screams to be used and abused with its heft and rugged finish. I plan on using and abusing my oberland for a long time to come, and might even buy another as a backup in case I ever lose it. I rarely do that with a knife unless I really like it.

rock solid, like the man says...
No fat on this one. Locks solid, no blade play, good looking G-10. This is a real working knife that looks like it would hold up. It would be interesting if it was partly serrated, and it really did need sharpening. Inspires confidence in its construction. Pouch is nice but mostly for storage.

Rock solid sturdy knife
I bought this knife because of the N690BO steel and the fact it was actually made in Germany. The micarta scales fill my hand are very comfortable, and the finish on the handle is superior to the micarta scales on my Bradford Guardian 3. If the OA EDW had been as sharp as the Guardian 3 (M390 steel), I would have rated it with a 5. As it came out of the box, as a cutting tool it was useless. However after my son sharpened it with his Wicked Edge system, it is a very impressive knife. I was worried about the weight, but I have found that so far it hasn't bothered me as long as I don't put too much in the same pocket (e.g. phone, change, money clip). I think the OA EDW would have been a much better knife to carry when I was at Philmont (2012), than the Buck knife that I did take.
