Buck Knives
The compact Folding Hunter model, the Ranger, is now ready for modern everyday carry. Based on the popularity of the famous 112 Ranger and the 2018 introduction of the 110 Folding Hunter LT, the natural next step was to offer a version of the 112 LT. The 112 Ranger LT rounds out the product family and offers up a lightweight, price friendly version of the Ranger. Without sacrificing the quality and rigidity, the 112 LT is every bit of the knife as the 112 Ranger using the same blade, but a third of the weight! The handle was also tooled to offer design flexibility and customization in the future.

Great knife.
This knife is lightweight but fills your hand. Makes a great work knife. Purchased a similar knife about 30 yrs ago, a Bucklight, 112, with fingergroves. Used it heavily in the Army, routinely cutting 1 inch rope (was in a boat unit). It held an edge well and sharpened easily. Even abused it cutting asphalt shingles. The knife is scarred but I still use it regularly. Purchased this modern version and like how much more comfortable the grip is. The older one had sharp grip edges making it less comfortable to hold during heavy use. I pocket carry these knives, using a paracord lanyard to help find and deploy it. For me, a sheath is not necessary with such a light knife. I am a big guy though. No problem with the blade play as described elsewhere. Bought more for gifts. Great price. Btw, boat the slim version too and like it better than the slim version. Don't care for the pocket clip design. Should be less of an advertisement & simple. The thumb stub on the slim version is functional, but not as easy to use as a disk or wave/ hook. The lock back naturally puts more pressure on the knife when opening than a liner lock. Using the full size handle is much more comfortable. The slim pockets better.

I had hoped for better
The 112 LT that I received had only one flaw, the blade play was massive. The horizontal and vertical play was several millimeters at the tip. I could see the gap between the blade and the rocker bar open up when I applied force on the back of the blade. I was not wrenching on the blade when I saw this. I was only holding the blade between my finger and thumb applying moderate force, while the blade wobbled like a duck's tail. This is the third Buck LT that I've handled, and they were all rather loose, but this was by far the worst. I sent it in for warranty and I hope they give me a better example of the quality that Buck can produce. I have two Buck Slims and they are perfect. I recommend the Slims, but have to advise against the LT.
