BU0364BKS: 364 Rival I
Buck Knives

People who carry an everyday knife, do so for one very important reason - because they use it every day. The knives they carry must be reliable as they are functional.

The Rival I from Buck Knives is a sleek folding knife that is easily deployed with one hand. The 420HC blade measures 2.75" and is forged into a drop point shape. The handles are made from black injection molded nylon which works great in wet or slippery situations. The Rival I comes with a removable stainless steel pocket clip and dual thumb studs, available in two sizes to meet your specific needs.

420HC is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add Buck's exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance Buck hardens to a Rockwell hardness of 58-60HRC.

Buck’s Select Level offers reliable products at an unsurpassed value. Quality materials and innovative Buck designs create practical knives and tools that deliver affordable excellence. Designed in the USA. Built in the USA or imported.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, None
Cons: Handle Material, Handle Feel
Too small and uncomfortable for me
I wasn't impressed with this one. The best thing about this knife is that the blade came super sharp and is very nicely done with a sort of stonewash polish finish. The blade shape looks great. But the design of the Rival series has flaws. I have own both the 364 and the larger model 366 and they both have the same issue. The handle has a hot spot right where the finger curve/choil is. With any long term use your finger starts to feel sore in that spot due to where plastic and liner meet. I am also not a fan of a the half bar lockback. It is not flush with the back part of the handle. My advice is to skip this series and go with a Buck Bantam 284 or 285 instead. The Bantam 285 feels a lot more ergonomic in the hand, has a very similar blade shape, and can be found at a better price.
