Buck Knives
The Vertex is a slim, capable folder and something entirely different from Buck. Featuring 420HC steel and an anodized aluminum handle, the Vertex is offered in three popular colors to appeal to the outdoor enthusiast, collector, and everyday carrier. The Wharncliffe blade is excellent for utility type tasks and it has a sharp tip for puncturing. The skeletonized aluminum handle is extremely thin and nothing stands in the way of the liner lock mechanism making this blade very easy to disengage.

Pros: Overall Quality, Lock Type, Ease of Opening, Lock Ease of Use, Pocket Clip
Cons: None
Small but useful.
This is a little knife that is actually a great little utility knife for everyday tasks-cutting string, opening packages, trimming things. It is not for self defense or hard usage although it is well constructed. The cutting edge of the blade is actually 2 13/16" instead of 3 inches although there is a slight curve the blade-it is not totally flat as it appears in the pictures. The blade is a non-aggressive Sheepsfoot/soft reverse Tanto that is thin in width but not fragile. The knife is very light weight and the handle may be too small for large hands. There isn't much there to grab onto. This is not in the same class as a Spyderco Delica or a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian(it is much smaller than those two) but it would be a good knife for someone working in a public setting who needs a knife but doesn't want to scare anyone. The framelock is sturdy and pocket clip while not large is acceptable and low key. Haven't tried to sharpen it but looks like that would not be problematic. Some jimping on top of the blade at the pivot point would help. It's a good little knife but it is it is small so be aware when buying. It is made in USA. May also be good for working around rafts and inflated watercraft as the tip is not pointed like a clip blade-more like that of a Spyderco Salt.
