Buck Knives

Buck's roots are in the outdoors and this is where they remain. With over a decade headquartered in Post Falls, Idaho, they continue to receive blessings from an area so rich in hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and other recreational activities. These opportunities in their backyard allow them immediate field testing to continuously make so many refinements that improve the performance of their knives.

This versatile folder is bound to be your next EDC knife. The smooth, one-hand opening, wicked sharp blade and stylish aluminum handle come together to make a thin, sleek lockback knife. This sturdy, locking design ensures safe use and is easily deployed with the thumb hole.

Buck Knives proudly support the mission of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) in their efforts to ensure the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat and Buck's hunting heritage. Founded in 1984, The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation now has over 500 chapters across the country.

420HC is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add Buck's exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance Buck hardens to a Rockwell hardness of 58-60HRC.

Buck’s Select Level offers reliable products at an unsurpassed value. Quality materials and innovative Buck designs create practical knives and tools that deliver affordable excellence. Designed in the USA. Built in the USA or imported.

The fabulous Spitfire in a beautiful shade of red
As there are so few pictures of this particular Spitfire on the internet I wasn't quite sure how it would look in person, but the colour is a pleasant one: A subdued plummy red rather than the gleaming Ferrari colour I'd half expected.I don't know what this "Team Elk" business is about, but I don't mind the logo on the front. On the clip side (in its factory position) there is no Elk logo, only the Buck logo visible through a hole in the clip. Overall, the knife is pleasing to look at.It's also fun to play with; it opens easily and with a satisfying click. Other Spitfire reviewers mention blade play, but the one I received seems solid enough. Only when I violently jiggle it around can I detect a tiny bit of movement, and I probably would never have noticed this if I hadn't been looking for it.The blade itself looks great; it's sharp and sensibly proportioned. I'm really looking forward to using it in every day jousts with cardboard boxes, bits of string, scraps of firewood and those dastardly envelopes that need opening each morning. The knife is lightweight, solid, aesthetically pleasing and functional. Even though I'm not an American I'm pleased the knife is US made - having BUCK USA on the blade certainly adds to its visual appeal and makes a nice change from the C word. All in all, a cracking knife - and if you want it in red, this is your only option!
