bold and balanced design and feel
This Buck knife has a form and feel that are unique and satisfying. The visual impact is only surpassed by the bold and hefty feel. The choice of s30v steel is another impressive factor in this grand combination of complementary materials, I am very glad to be able to count this among the finest fully functional blades that I've had the privilege to hold.

First Legacy Purchase
This is my first Legacy knife purchase. While I was drawn to the 982 for its looks (kind of has a "Batman" look), I had concerns, especially as I would prefer to touch and feel before purchase. I wanted to know how it fit my hands and, if I wanted to actually use it, would it hold up? I received the knife today and WOW. The knife is gorgeous. The contrast between the full tang blade, brass, and copper pins, against the wood handle, is beautiful. It's heavy in the hand, with a razor sharp broad blade. At 6'3", it fits nicely in my hand. As far as whether it would hold up to real use, I have no doubt. While I originally had figured I would have a custom sheath built, I've reconsidered and have now opted to put in in the accompanying display case. As with the knife, the display case is beautiful and well made. This is a knife I'll be happy to pass down through generation to come.
