BU119BR75A: 119BR Special 75th Anniversary
Buck Knives

Hoyt Buck's first knife, made from a worn-out file blade in 1902, was a fixed blade, and for many years, all Buck knives were fixed blades. Now, over 100 years later, Buck Knives continues to offer a comprehensive line of fixed-blade knives, ideal for field and work. For the outdoorsmen who prefers the absolute solid feel of a fixed blade, Buck's best-selling Model 119 Special sets the standard by which the others are measured.

This classic large hunting knife has been a super seller going back some 47 years. Hoyt and Al Buck used to build them by hand in their two-man shop. Today, this larger hunting knife with a large clip blade for detail work, piercing, and cutting in tight places for added control, is as popular as ever. This is the 75th Anniversary Edition that comes with a 75th Anniversary medallion in the handle as well as a special stamp on the blade. Polished brass butt and guard. Beautifully balanced. Rugged Burgundy leather sheath included.

420HC is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add Buck's exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance Buck hardens to a Rockwell hardness of 58-60HRC.

The crescent tip of a clip point blade makes the blade thinner with a sharper point. This shape provides good control for detail work and cutting in tight places. It is also well suited for intentional punctures like new holes in your belt, etc. While the point of the blade is effective for detail work, it's not as strong as the thicker points on drop points and skinners.

The epitome of quality
If you could develop a list of the finest, most useful and most beautiful knives in any category, Buck would always be in the list. In fixed blade knives, the 119 stands out. This particular version is one of the most beautiful useful knives made. I don’t know that you could get more bang for the “Buck” (pun intended) in any other fixed blade.

quality and collectability
When I received the knife I could tell the quality was superb and up to the standard of the rest of the Buck knives I own. It is instant collectable and won't be used for general duty only for show. although I would not hesitate to put it to duty if needed.
