An Interesting Knife
This was one of those emotional purchases. I was looking for a small EDC knife and saw this unusual pattern and was hooked by the photos. I ended up getting a Peanut in the Harvest Moon pattern to fit my needs, but I just couldn't walk away from this pattern so after toying with the Sodbuster, I ended up purchasing the Trapper because I thought it the silver bolster enhanced the look. The knife is lighter in color than the photos, which I thought had more of a whiskey-wood look. The actual knife really does have the pink/white color of real salmon. There's a bit of finger nail catch on the side opposite the bolster between the metal and bone which drives the YouTube experts crazy but I don't consider this anything close to a serious manufacturing flaw. The nail groove to open is for me a bit too far back for a knife of this length. Just something to get used to. It's a beautiful and artistic pattern. It feels to me more like a display knife than a worker though it does have a solid "snap" when opened.
