Case Knives

Step into the Rubicon.

These stunning knives feature original chrome vanadium steel blades, the traditional Case pocket knife steel, and the dark red bone offsets the blades perfectly. This knife family includes eight of the most popular knife styles and the deep crimson handles make these knives stand out from all others. By combining one of the most popular steels with a richly colored handle it creates a knife destined to become a modern classic.

Pros: Blade Material, Handle Feel, Lock Type, Overall Quality, Handle Material, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Ease of Opening, None
My first Case Knife...but not my last.
I'm kind of afraid to use this knife because of how pretty it is. The bolsters are bright and shiny and the polish on the blade is almost glass smooth. That being said, it's quite functional. The edge is sharp, lockup is very positive, and, despite how the locking liner protrudes from the handle, I never feel like the blade will close inadvertently. I only have two small gripes and they're mostly just a matter of my own personal preferences. One is that the red bone handle scales are brighter in person that what the online images depict.Think maraschino cherry red. Second is that trying to open the blade, with one hand via the blade spur, is a rather laborious venture. It's stiff. Neither of these things really bother me, but I figured I would mention them. Altogether, this is a nice knife.

Pros: Blade Material, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: None
Excellent, usual case quality and very welcome on CV instead of Stainless steel.Ignore Charles St J. He obviously does not understand that he has bought a chrome vanadium steel blade instead of a stainless steel blade. CV will take a MUCH sharper edge but will stain unless you oxidise the surface by washing the blade, sticking it into an apple and then soaking it in vinegar for 20 mins (just the blade) the blade will come our a deep grey you then oil it with either mineral oil or nut oil (not olive oil, it goes rancid). This will protect the blade from rust and from the staining of apples etc!If you don't want it to stain then buy a stainless steel bladed version, which is very good bit doesn't take quite as sharp an edge.

Case knife
Worst knife I ever bought. Something as mild as apple juice oxidized the blade black. So I guess the only tasks for which this knife is suitable is opening packages. Pathetic
