CISD35500: Atrim APOC Cutlass
APOC Survival Tools
Before the seven seals are torn away... CAS proudly introduces the A.P.O.C Swords from Dragon King. Whether it be the plague, natural disaster, mass hysteria, nuclear fallout, zombies, alien invasion or mankind's inevitable A.I. war, these tactical swords feature a meek and functional design against unremitting maintenance and corrosion in those bleak future days. But putting such thought in design is expected from combining the expertise of the artisans of Dragon King and the mind of sword maker, Gus Trim. Tactically black and no frills, the removable durable black G10 handle scales cover a thick full-tang on the Black Oxide coated 9260 Spring Steel blades.

The black textured fiberglass sheaths are fitted to a MOLLE compatible Kydex platform that allows you to secure your swords to belt or pack in multiple carry positions. A notch in the handle and the platform allows for unsheathing as well as locking the sword securely for inverted maneuvers. no preparations for the end times are complete without A.P.O.C. tactical sword for when the bullets run out, the knives are too short and your life is on the line.

Leave Nothing to Fate

A more obvious Gus Trim design, the A.P.O.C. Cutlass possesses numerous construction nuances of said creator. Revealing his subtle style in the contours of the 21.5" black oxide coated blade, the tapered black edge of the tip and a reinforcing fuller running from the sweet spot to the choil scream an Atrim blade. No doubt the A.P.O.C. Cutlass will soon arise a favorite for single or two-handed close quarters combat. With an overall length of 29.75" weighing merely 1 lbs. 15 oz. this piece becomes most useful when scavenging for food and supplies within dilapidated buildings or as a side piece on your bug out vehicle or survival pack traversing the wasteland. With the 8.125" handle the younger survivors in your group can contribute to the protection of the family and its resources. Again, the G10 handle slabs, rivets, and blade profile is smoothly flush all around preventing blisters or lesions helping avoid infection while providing a secure grip. The double hooked guard prevents your hands from sliding onto the blade edge.

Pros: Materials, Usable, Handle Material, Blade Material, Overall Quality, None
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard
Not perfect, but a damn fine blade.
a heavy duty cutter, to be sure. most of the issues i bring up are nitpicks of my own, and shouldn't discourage you from buying one.short version: minor nitpicks, scabbard is "meh" at best, but worth the money as it's very sturdy and could take all kinds of abuse and keep going, and will cut out of the box.long version: overall it balances out well, though it is a tad blade heavy, though that's not necessarily a bad thing. the edge it comes with, while not "razor" sharp is more than serviceable, although if you're finicky about edge sharpness(and i am) some work is needed. the edge grind is also not ENTIRELY perfect, but a bit of work with a stone tuned it up nicely. the point is very well made and sturdy, and you could sharpen the false edge if you were so inclined, though that would take more than a little work as its 2-3 millimeters thick, the hilt is one or two handed, although if you have bigger hands it'll be a tad cramped for your other hand. the quillions are short but serviceable, although the edges are a bit sharp and can bite your hand a bit, but some file work can take care of that(again, me nitpicking). the handle scales are comfortable, though a tad slick, but not enough to be worrisome, though i did have to tighten down one of the handle screws for it to fit flush (another nitpick), although it does make it easy to remove should you want to do a cord wrap or use some other material on the handle. the biggest issue of the entire package is the sheath. while it does it's job and is fairly sturdy, it rattles A LOT and isn't all that secure, though as long as you keep it tip down you should be fine. the MOLLE points might work, but the plastic is thin and i, personally, wouldn't gamble too heavily on them holding up to heavy abuse, though you can end-run around this by making some paracord loops and hanging it off a belt, or just lashing it to a pack. though i will say the scabbard does have the added benefit of a drain hole at the bottom. so, overall, i would recommend this, especially if you enjoy a bit of fine-tuning or personalizing, but it will perform just fine right out of the gate.
