Custom Knife Factory Anton Malyshev Sukhoi 2.0 Folding 4.125" S35VN Satin Blade, Titanium Handle with Carbon Fiber Inlays - SKH-M-ST
CKFSUKHOI2: Anton "Tohus" Malyshev Sukhoi 2.0
Custom Knife Factory
Custom Knife Factory might sound like an ambiguous name but it's definitely one worth remembering. Their knives are mid-tech by definition but the quality definitely borders on full custom. They have a CNC machine shop in China that does some of the leg work but all the hand fit and finishing is done in-house in their Moscow shop. They use top-of-the-line materials made in the USA and designs from some of the most talented knife designers in Russia.
The Sukhoi is an Anton Malyshev design and one large, yet slim folding knife. The only difference between the original and this 2.0 model is the blue anodization on the backspacer, thumb stud, pivot screw and pocket clip. The S35VN drop point blade has a very fine tip for puncturing or detail work and a small amount of belly for slicing. The hand brushed satin finish gives it a very beautiful, very high end look for such a large, slender blade. The shape of the single thumbstud really catches on the thumb and provides exceptional purchase for opening. The action is absolute perfection thanks to the 2RBS... two rows bearing system. Not exactly sure how this works, but take our word for it, it does the job very, very well.
The handle is what makes this knife different from most others. It can simply be thought of as a titanium frame lock design with huge pieces of contoured carbon fiber inlaid onto that titanium. It's not comprised of liners with inlays put on; it's a solid titanium frame with large areas milled out for the carbon fiber. This is done extremely well and the detailed work on the titanium leads you to believe it was not an easy or fast process to create this handle. The knife features a nice custom pivot, a milled titanium pocket clip, Torx screw hardware throughout and a stainless steel replaceable lockbar insert. You cannot go wrong with a Custom Knife Factory offering. The quality is on par with absolutely any manufacturer out there.

Semi-Custom or Mid-Tech knives are knives produced by a process in which the designer has more direct--but not complete--involvement; parts of these knives may still have been made by others.
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
A tougher steel than S30V, it retains the excellent corrosive properties and ability to take an edge, but improves on the ability to hold that edge.
A nonferrous metal, it's prized for its high strength to weight ratio and is often used on higher end knives.
