Description
CR5461K: 5461K Fossil Compact, Veff Serrations
CRKT

The Fossil is a knife that harkens back to another era. But with a hammered two-tone handle and the IKBS ball bearing pivot system, this one will never get old—especially when it comes to cutting tasks. This model with Veff serrations is an astonishing cutter in a compact package.

The Fossil combines the best from designer Flavio Ikoma of Presidente Prudente, Brazil. With styling cues found on his previous Sampa and Carajas models, it ramps up the artistic flair to create a piece that is clearly Ikoma, yet distinctively a new breed of EDC folder.

The knife has a unique, prehistoric look. But it goes through jobs like a T-rex on stainless steel steroids courtesy of a 3.41" hollow drop point blade.

A one-of-a-kind looking pocket knife, it features the IKBS ball bearing pivot system, combined with an opening flipper for blade deployment that is smooth and fast. A thumb hole cutout in the blade gives you a second option for opening the knife. The flipper also turns into a handsome finger guard when the blade is open. In the features department, it's survival of the fittest.

While the Fossil is hardcore on the inside, it's gorgeous on the outside. The handles are made of stain-less steel with a unique hammered finish. Contoured multi-colored G10 handle overlays make it look like a gator. But the blade won't come down and bite you in the open position thanks to a frame lock.

Reach for the next evolution in well-crafted everyday carry knives—The Fossil.

fossil review
A cool-looking knife; well made and perfectly balanced. The ball-bearing system doesn't work with every opening but I think it's due to the blade pivot screw being over-tightened (I had the same problem with the large version) and is easily corrected.

My first knife
This was my first knife, I purchased last year's model 8 months ago. Everyone loves it. It's extremely smooth opening and closing. By far it has the best framework Ice seen, there's a lot of space for your thumb and it's well rounded so it's even a pleasure to close.Since that time I've acquired:CRKT M14Cold Steel Voyager Boker SubcomSchrade Nitro (highly recommend)CRKT Tighe RadeKershaw ShuffleNothing compares although they all have their charms. The Fossil is still my favourite and my EDC, I do occasionally carry the Nitro, which is lovely in every way except the locking mechanism is rough on the thumb. For a $60-$100 knife you just can't go wrong. I am disappointed that they have made it about an inch smaller, I love the size on mine. You can get the larger size on this website still and I would highly recommend it. I am a woman and my hands therefore are not the same as the general users for the product, so I will guarantee it will fit comfortably in most any hand.My buddies all just love it, they've all grown up with knives and I've only just started last year.
