CR5462: 5462 Fossil Black Compact
CRKT

Makes all your other stylish knives extinct.

The Fossil is a compact knife that hearkens back to another era. With a hammered two-tone and IKBS ball bearing pivot system, this one will never get old—especially when it comes to cutting tasks.

The Fossil combines the best from designer Flavio Ikoma of Presidente Prudente, Brazil. With styling cues found on his previous Sampa and Carajas models, it ramps up the artistic flair to create a piece that is clearly Ikoma, yet a distinctive breed of EDC folder.

8CR13 Stainless Steel
Considered a value steel, 8Cr13 steel provides adequate corrosion resistance but with slightly more carbon than AUS-8, it will sharpen up and hold an edge better.

Formed in a sheet under high pressure by combining fiberglass and an epoxy resin binder. These handles are lightweight and shaped to ensure a solid grip.

Excellent value
Very cool design, sharp blade, functional serrations (not overdone), great quality throughout. Had much lower expectations based on price. Feels like a knife 2-3x its price.

Incredible design
Such a well-designed knife. Great handle material, fit and finish. opens and closes so smoothly with either hand. Almost drop shut.Only true con I've found is in the hardware. The handle screws that go into the backspacer have so much loctite that I stripped all 3 torx heads. This knife is one of the best looking and feeling knives I've handled, and is very well priced. The G10 is a lot darker than in the pictures. Basically black/dark gray. The knife is great for general EDC tasks, but due to the budget steel, thin stock, and ball bearings, this wouldn't do well for hard use/outdoors.
