Columbia River Knife & Tool
The CRKT Foresight™ folding knife designed by Ken Onion draws on the tried and true formula of "form follows function". Its formidable profile looks like a chiseled physique just waiting to pounce on your next cutting task with all of the control and efficiencies you would expect in a high-quality folding knife. The cold-forged aluminum handle of the Foresight™ is purposefully styled and shaped with swept finger grooves and proper palm swell to provide a confident, comfortable grip no matter the use at hand.

Ken designed the 3.5-inch modified drop-point blade with a generous belly and re-curve cutting edge to maximize tool utility. And, the IKBS ball bearing pivot system coupled with Interframe style mechanism, make opening and closing the blade as smooth as silk. Precision ground of AUS 8 stainless steel and coated with Black Ti Nitride finish... this Ken Onion knife looks cool and is plenty sharp. Available in both Plain Edge and Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated Edge models.

Bottom line, some say hindsight is 20/20, but perhaps a smarter way to think is that having the Foresight™ shows you plan ahead when it comes to having the right tools.

About the Knife Designer

Ken Onion - "Though I have been a devout knife collector since childhood, collecting mostly production knives and anything else I could find, I was unaware of the custom knife industry until 1989 when I saw an issue of Knives Illustrated at a local drug store. From there I found a local knife maker named Stan Fujisaka and begged him to teach me. I made my first knife in November 1991 and have continued the craft since.á While recovering from back surgery in 1996, I decided to try to design a folder that was easier to manipulate than what was available, and not a switchblade. The result was the first assisted opening knife I called "Speed Safe" After finding some information on the whole patent process and consultation from an attorney, I got my first patent, creating a whole new category of knives between manual and auto."

Amazing knife
Just got my Foresight serrated in and straight out the box its the most comfortable knife thats ever been in my hands. The blade is sharp and centered good with no blade wobble. I was iffy about the pocket clip but glad i was proven wrong with doubts that i would like it. The assisted opening is very smooth. This being my first CRKT knife and first knife with IKBS i am very pleased. (im use to Kershaws).. To sum it all up it is a great well built and well made knife and happy with my purchase.

Columbia River Ken Onion Foresight Folding 3.5" AUS 8 Black Combo
Have had this just barely long enough to attempt review. Have had to use knives in past for one handed genuine emergencies , so one handed ambidextrous types seem to be best for me. I carry this one left hip pocket, next to wallet, works very well there, in and out of pocket. Clip is about just right for insertion and retrieval. Love the "deep carry". Like the short out-curved clip , easy to "finger up" on the clip to start retrieval. Some of those clips are just too tight, long and very hard on pockets and "grip tight" when you need it out. Had to practice a little with tip down carry and left hand opening, but it's working out. Had a tip up carry blade come open once, same pocket, and almost had a serious boo-boo when I reached in for my wallet. I have used the big bellied blade for long straight line cuts in HD cardboard boxes, opening packages and cutting HD duct tape. Haven't really needed the "saw" portion of blade yet, as for cutting HD rope, or sawing a twisted seat belt, as I've had to do before, but it's there for need and extremely sharp! Starting to prefer this style blade, this one is extremely sharp. Knife, so far is very solidly built. pros and cons on aluminum scales. Slips nicely into pocket and nicely out, doesn't cling to clothing. Con is the when hands are cold, it's a little slippery for the grip. I would say this is a great EDC knife and well worth the purchase price. Glad I have it, no regrets.

This is a solid knife with a handle that feels rock solid. The design on the handle fits your fingers giving you a great grip. The blade flies open on the IKBS ball bearing system. The minimized clip works! I love the blade shape. This knife is a real winner with Ken Onion's great design features and CRKT's attention to product quality.
