CRKMNDBXE: Mnandi Folding Knife, Box Elder
Chris Reeve Knives
A perfect combination of a CPM-S35VN blade with the strength of the Integral Lock embellished with your choice of exotic hardwoods inlaid on the front and back, comes complete with a pocket clip that you just want to show off. Without overstating itself, the Mnandi connects the bearer to the romance of simplicity while still maintaining precision quality.

Chris Reeve set out to find a more dressed up side to the traditional knife - one that could be worn as a tie pin, carried alongside pens in a shirt pocket, clipped to a pants waistband, or tucked inside a purse. The Mnandi is a chance to show sleek and elegant beauty and is built with the same precision and quality as the rest of Chris Reeve's knives, giving it the ability to accomplish tasks that may seem out of its inherent nature. Inlaid with a variety of exotic woods, the Mnandi is the perfect tool for the most dapper of gentlemen and the most elegant of ladies. At the office, the bar, or the dinner table the Mnandi is bound to function and look very nice.

The Chris Reeve Knives Mnandi frame lock folding knife continues the tradition of high quality that you have come to expect from Chris Reeve Knives. An elegant, functional gentleman's (or gentlewoman's!) pocket knife, the Mnandi – pronounced mm-nun-dee – is accurately named from the Zulu word meaning "very nice".

Leather Sheath
Leather Sheath
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to Kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.
Frame Lock
Frame Lock
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Pocket Clip
Pocket Clip
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
A tougher steel than S30V, it retains the excellent corrosive properties and ability to take an edge, but improves on the ability to hold that edge.

Pros: Pocket Clip, Blade Material, Handle Feel, Weight, Overall Quality, Handle Material, Blade Sharpness
Cons: None
Beautiful, exacting precision, extreme lightweight, fine materials.
This is a small gentleman's pocket knife, frame-locking, with a pocket clip. The blade is 2.75 inches long. The pocket clip provides strong retention, and is elegantly designed so that it looks like a fine ink writing pen. It is as light as a fancy metal pen as well, which means that it can be worn in a shirt pocket or as a tie clip without drawing attention. The knife is not tactical looking, or aggressive, so it won't scare people if you pull it out of your pocket in an office setting or public place. And you can get it with your choice of exotic handle scale overlay to highlight the fact that it isn't your average knife. The blade stays closed well, there is no wiggle or play in the blade when locked in place. This is a two-handed opening knife. It is possible to open one handed, but it is definitely not designed for that, and for the small size and intended purpose of the knife why would you care? It has early lock-up (new), and the lock is solid, so there should be no problem with use and wear. When closed the blade is centered perfectly.I can't speak well enough about the precision of manufacturing. Everything on this knife is exact to a fraction of a micron. All surfaces are impeccably finished, and symmetry and curves are both exact and pleasing. You need a jeweler's eye loop to truly appreciate the machining quality. It looks more organic than mechanical.Unless you are wealthy enough to light your cigars with hundreds, you aren't going to want to use this knife for screws or to pry things. But for any proper use of a very sharp and relatively delicate blade, it is a brilliant tool that fills you with appreciation for artistic metalworking. Except for the beauty of the exotic wood handle overlays, the knife is extremely strong and rugged and I would say that for it's size would be much tougher than a similar sized Kershaw, Gerber, or Buck knife that weighs twice as much. But given it's price and beauty, you won't want to abuse it.

Pros: Overall Quality, Lock Type, Ease of Opening, Blade Material, Handle Material, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Sharpness, Weight, Sheath, Handle Feel, Pocket Clip
Cons: None
Regardless of handle material i.e. Mammoth Ivory Bark or Bocote wood inlay, the only difference is the handle material. I own Mnandi's in Bocote, Tamboti wood, and two in Mammoth Ivory Bark, and with the exception of inlay material the build and design quality are equal. Those with a smaller budget do not need to feel they are getting a lesser product if they get the standard woods... the build quality is the same for all Mnandi folders. This is one of the finest pocket knives ever made.
