CRKSIN1050: Small Inkosi Insingo FDE Folding Knife, KnifeCenter Exclusive
Chris Reeve Knives

The Inkosi is a family of folding knives that will claim the position of Chief alongside the iconic Sebenza. This design continues to push the characteristics of the Integral Lock, blade strength, pivot and lock tolerances as well as overall ergonomics.

A carefully developed hollow grind, strengthened pivot, and sturdy lock up were the starting points for this family of Inkosi folding knives. While challenging the standards of the Integral Lock, the Inkosi is the most overbuilt knife of its kind, a true testament of strength. Using a ceramic ball as an interface for the lock bar to the blade tang, it ensures a lifetime of consistent lock up.

This is the first time Chris Reeve has been able to use twin, oversized washers with an Integral lock. The washer diameter is wider than the blade securing zero sideways play. With larger lubrication holes there is even less surface area of friction. With the Large Hollow Grind technology, they use a shallow radius to add more strength to the blade, making it halfway between a flat grind and a standard hollow grind.
Features
  • At 97HRC, the strength of the ceramic ball end lock provides a lifetime of consistent lock up
  • Mounted Pocket Clip rests on the back face, eliminating the possibility of pressure on the lockbar and provides a more ergonomic grip
  • Large Hollow Grind, a more shallow radiused grind, provides a combination of strength from a flat grind with proven sharpening longevity from a hollow grind
  • Twin over-sized Phosphor-bronze washers
  • Slip Through Stop Pin
  • Large Pivot

Pros: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel, Overall Quality
Cons: None
Best folding knife that I own.
Like a lot of people, I waited a long time to pull the trigger on a Chris Reeve Knife. I could never justify the cost when there were so many “similar” options out there. However, after trial and error and never really being able to find the “perfect” edc for me. I decided to give CRK a try. After all, there had to be something to these knives if people have been carrying virtually the same model for about 30 years. My small inkosi Is the knife center exclusive with a FDE coating. I love that it’s different than the standard blue, grey and satin models but I also love that it’s subtle and not too flashy. The ergonomics are great and the size is perfect for everyday carry. The insingo blade shape is awesome and has a utilitarian feel to me. I prefer the size and handle shape of the Inkosi over the Sabenza but that’s strictly personal preference. The action is buttery smooth and everything about the knife is solid and screams quality. The lockup is sturdy and the included takedown tools make maintenance and cleaning a breeze. CRK also includes thread locker and grease with each knife. No blade play. No off center blades. No weak or weird action. Just a quality knife that’s built to last. If you buy one knife in your lifetime, it should be a Chris Reeve Knife.
