Description
CS36MB: 36MB Drop Forged Boot Knife
Cold Steel

While on a research trip in Argentina, Cold Steel President Lynn C Thompson had the pleasure of using a solid steel hunting knife by French knifemaker Michel Achez.

He was incredibly impressed by Monsieur Achez's knife, which was both simple in design and astonishingly functional.

Inspired by Michel's work (and with his blessing), Lynn began exploring how to bring this classic hunter to a larger audience and also expand the design into other platforms.

The Drop Forged Boot Knife is expertly heat treated and drop forged from 52100 high carbon steel with a Rockwell hardness of 58-59 for superior toughness. Its double edge blade is both sharp and strong, designed to put in great work in even the most demanding conditions.

With no handle to break or no superfluous parts to rot, crack or get damaged in the field, the Drop Forged Boot Knife is a no-nonsense hard-working tactical backup knife.

Its ergonomic handle, with its integral finger guard deep comfortable trough and lanyard hole offers a very secure and comfortable grip even when wearing thick, leather gloves.

Supplied with a durable Secure-Ex sheath, the Drop Forged Boot Knife is sure to be appreciated and valued by those who will marvel at its performance and value for the money.

Forged steel boot knife
Excellent! Came out of the box shaving sharp. Perfect size for a boot knife. I had my doubts about how it would handle, but these were rapidly dispelled.

Cons: Finish, None
Good drop forge
Great shape and size. Came very sharp and slices really well. The blade finish on the silver/grey knives is very smooth, however it does wear off fairly easily. Underneath that finish it has another finish which is black and considerably more durable. To me this is the only reason for a 4 rating instead of 5. Otherwise the knife is excellent for the cost. I have one of each in the series and may duplicate some. Kydex sheath is excellent for horizontal carry.

Drop forged boot knife
Well made with no blemish found. very solid but not too heavy, razor sharp. Both sides the same slightly hollow ground flats totally symmetrical. Sheath is outstanding with clip that locks like a vise grip. I wiped the edges with sentry marine toughcloth. This is a fine example of the cutlery art.
