CS58ALCM: 58ALCM Mini Lawman
Cold Steel
Cold Steel is proud to include a series of knives named in honor of, and expressly designed to serve, our brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement.

These rugged knives are designed to perform in the most extreme environments and shrug off the harshest abuse, while still remaining comfortable to use and easy to carry.

Their "civilian friendly" and intentionally non-intimidating drop point blades are still big and sharp enough for almost any task. The Lawman's blades are made from American CTS XHP Alloy premium performance steel which is hollow ground to a thin, hand-polished edge and then DLC (Diamond Like) coated for ultimate endurance.

The American Lawman series handles are also designed to be as versatile and user friendly as possible. Made from textured American G10, and expertly sculpted for maximum grip security in even the coldest, wettest conditions they are fully ambidextrous and easily worn, carried and used whether you are left or right handed.

A lock failure on your folder is incredibly dangerous and may result in severely lacerated digits or even the loss of a finger - but if the lock fails on a police officer's knife, it could be a genuine disaster and result in loss of life! That's why Cold Steel has provided each American Lawman with the Tri-Ad locking mechanism. Designed to withstand terrific impact forces and almost impervious to shock, it has passed the most gruesome torture testing in the industry.

Cons: Ease of Opening, Pocket Clip, None
Good as is, but even better with a little TLC
Love this knife! It's good as is, but with a little TLC, it's even better. Put the ApostleP polished washer mod on the hinge, adjusted the lock tension with the overnight half -open mod and it smoothens the opening up considerably. Thumbstud is a bit on the small side. Replaced it with a Recon 1 thumb stud and added a metal clip for a wave mod and problem solved. Pocket clip placement is not ideal, but with a knife this small it's less of an issue. I just removed it. Edge already came paper slicing sharp but I reprofiled it and polished it to a mirrors edge. Ergonomics of the handle are absolutely fantastic and it locks right into the hand. Will sort out a lanyard for this and cover all bases. Perfect for EDC or even SD use (with a little training of course). Follows me everywhere!

Pros: Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, Handle Feel, Weight, Handle Material, Lock Type
Cons: Ease of Opening, Pocket Clip, Lock Ease of Use, None
The Mini Lawman has a great handle and great blade. It fits my hand well, and it is lightweight. Consequently, the knife is useful, and it is carried. Two things I would modify: (1) It is difficult to open one-handed, so for safety sake, I end up using two hands. Since there are many situations where two-handed openings are difficult or impossible, I would make it easier to open single-handed. (2) When using the pocket clip, the knife handle sticks out of my pocket a full inch. I do not necessarily want to advertise to anyone who sees the clip that it is connected to a folding knife. So, I would put a "deep carry/low rider" pocket clip on it.

Mini Lawman
Reliable, except when you press down on the lock too hard and the spring slides up. Hoping that Cold Steel will fix this problem. Weight is alright, doesn't really matter since the knife is so small anyway. Not necessarily easy to open during a time of stress and adrenaline rush, but it makes up for how tough it is.
