CS58ALCM: 58ALCM Mini Lawman
Cold Steel
Cold Steel is proud to include a series of knives named in honor of, and expressly designed to serve, our brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement.

These rugged knives are designed to perform in the most extreme environments and shrug off the harshest abuse, while still remaining comfortable to use and easy to carry.

Their "civilian friendly" and intentionally non-intimidating drop point blades are still big and sharp enough for almost any task. The Lawman's blades are made from American CTS-XHP Alloy premium performance steel which is hollow ground to a thin, hand-polished edge and then DLC (Diamond Like) coated for ultimate endurance.

The American Lawman series handles are also designed to be as versatile and user friendly as possible. Made from textured American G10, and expertly sculpted for maximum grip security in even the coldest, wettest conditions they are fully ambidextrous and easily worn, carried and used whether you are left or right handed.

A lock failure on your folder is incredibly dangerous and may result in severely lacerated digits or even the loss of a finger - but if the lock fails on a police officer's knife, it could be a genuine disaster and result in loss of life! That's why Cold Steel has provided each American Lawman with the Tri-Ad locking mechanism. Designed to withstand terrific impact forces and almost impervious to shock, it has passed the most gruesome torture testing in the industry.

Child’s Knife w/a Man-Grip
Even though, the laws of some jurisdictions require me to carry a child’s knife (2.5” blade), that doesn’t mean I don’t want a “Big-Boy” grip when I grow up (the wife says, “Oh, when’s that going to happen?” I don’t think she’s talking about the knife handle). Nothing irritates me more than an inadequate knife handle, with my pinky hanging uselessly, off the end. Fortunately, Cold Steel does small knife grips better than almost anyone (see: Cold Steel, Tuff Lite, available at >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mini Lawman has a nice spear point blade, with excellent, hard edged CTS-XHP steel; arrived sharp. Opens very easily for a lockback (see: B. L.’s [of SE Asia] review below for do-able improvements). Has Cold Steel’s confident, Tri-Ad lock-up. Best of all, a comfortable, secure handle that almost accommodates the pinky finger. >>>>>>>>> Do yourself a favor. Go to Hobby store. Buy ½” – 1” wooden beads (cheap for large bag). Sand off cheap varnish/stain. Paint/stain/ or use leather dye to color them. Attach to lanyard hole with braided 70#, or single strand 550 paracord. Choke the bead up as tight as possible to the butt of the handle (adjust to comfort). Tie-off and trim. This provides a floating pommel, if you will, giving you added comfort, security, and confidence of grip. It makes it easier to draw from deep pocket carry, too. Try it, you’ll like it. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> BlackHawk, Hawk Point, plain edge, is a very similar knife to the Cold Steel, Mini Lawman; I’ve been carrying it for awhile for utility purposes (available at It has cheaper, softer steel, minimalist grip, lesser locking mech., and inclusion of a bottle opener (what L.E.O. doesn’t need a bottle opener after a tough shift?). It would make a nice back-up for your Mini Lawman; using the Hawk Point for utility (opening boxes & beers), and saving your Mini Lawman for a higher purpose (like trimming your cuticles : ). >>>>>>>>>>>>>> As, GD (S.E. Texas) points out in his review, below, Mini Lawman is an excellent bargain, and you may want to get yours before they disappear. I’m pretty sure that our Founding Fathers did not intend laws that severely obstruct the freedom of law-abiding citizens to carry the simple tools of our choosing, that we use in our daily lives. Support The life you save, may be your own. As always, thanks, for the speedy delivery, excellent service, and great cutlery.

Get yours before they're gone!
If your thinking about getting this, get it! They are discontinued, and You cannot beat knife center's price. Excellent, capable, stout, little folder. Opens easily and quick with thumb stud and a light flick. And cold steels tri ad lock ensures that this knife will never close when you don't want it to. One handed operation is simple and easy. You get a comfortable, somewhat four finger grip (pinky resting on base, no groove) when holding further back. And the blade ricasso and swoop at the top of the handle makes another excellent finger choil for a choked up controlled grip, with all four fingers, great for fine work. Gripping upside down is equally as good as the others. G10 is thin and has a great finish. The pocket clip is stout. The blades edge is almost all belly and the xhp steel cold steel upgraded to is phenomenal as well as the coating. Couple swipes on a strop brings it back to life after extended use. Knife is thin and light enough to carry clipped or down in pocket without issue. Clip leaves a good amount of this knife out of pocket, but it's stout enough that you won't have to worry about it. Not a whole lot more to say other than its very capable for being so small. Would make a great main carry if your looking for something light, or an awesome back up you could depend on. Shame it's discontinued.
