Denix Reproduction Hayreddin "Redbeard" Barbarossa Small Pirate Sabre with Scabbard, 16th Century - 4199
DX4199: Replica Hayreddin Barbarossa Small Pirate Sabre with Scabbard
The most famous Muslim corsair, Hayreddin Barbarossa or "Redbeard", was born on the Greek island of Lesbos, which was under Turkish control at the time. He built his corsair reputation in the early years of the sixteenth century with his brother Aruch. From his base in Algiers, he controlled all commercial trade in the Mediterranean Sea under the authority of the Turkish Empire and became a nightmare for the Spanish Empire and other Christian states of the time. This reproduction sword features nickel finished metal basket handle and thin metal blade. The blade is intentionally unsharpened, making this a great display piece for any part of the house. Comes with a hardened plastic scabbard.
