Eickhorn Solingen
The NATO combat knife model Cyprus SF is a development between Eickhorn Solingen and the NATO Cypriot Commando Forces. The design clearly demonstrated the important fact that Eickhorn is capable of adapting their existing products to any special operational demands. It combines design aspects and features from different knives to give a better tool to complete the task. This robust Bowie has all the features of a well designed, well constructed piece of military equipment. The handle is hardened, molded zytel with a great finger guard and slim tactical profile. The blade features reverse saw teeth on the spine and a very functional run of serrations at the base of the blade. The hole toward the tip of the blade perfectly fits an extruding bit on the base of the sheath making for a good wire cutter, though it's not easily apparent how this really works. I'm still working on it myself. The sheath is very sturdy, an excellent fit with steel reinforced lips on the top for great durability. This is a tool you can count on in a tactical situation, the heft of the entire package is very reassuring that this knife can be used hard without fail.
