The good cutting performance from a classic Scandinavian knife, the Puukko, is translated into this modern folding knife. The Birk 75 has received many positive reviews for its technical superior design, rugged durability, and its eye popping good look. Now the second version is out featuring scales flush with the liners, clip placed for deep pocket carry, countersunk screws, and the liner lock changed for easier opening and closing. Flat, chamfered scales in Carbon Fiber or in Curly Birch, the choice is yours.

Practical wood working knife
Well built knife. The Scandi grind cuts through branches (not on one cut, of course) with ease. Despite it's boxy shape the knife feels good in the hand though not as good as say a Para-Military or griptilian. Liners are not drilled to reduce weight. A good compromise for a fixed blade for a day hike in the woods. No blade play along with the bronze bushings is always a nice combination. All in all this is a knife that is built to be used. The carbon fibre is nice, though I confess to being curious about handling the curly birch handle. A solid knife and a solid purchase.

Update to review of October 2014. I might prefer a slimmer blade. I might prefer an Axis lock or 1095 steel or another high carbon like 5240 (?). Then again, I might not. I like this better than my Benchmade McHenry and Williams, which is saying a very great deal. I don't know where I'd find a better knife.

Awesome ...
This knife came with a fast shipping , no problems , good job. Now, this awesome flipper , has so much to offer for the price , comparing with other very useless expensive brands is unbelievable high quality finish , materials , blade steel , for the money . Its is solid , blade is thick , D2 can be brittle but in this size and grind should be very strong and tough . Appears to be solid and very strong all over , locking very good , no play ...excellent quality ,,,for $100 and few bucks .Has also cooper washers ,nice deploy , razor sharp indeed . This baby rocks , Finland made, (on the box is written ,,Finland ,, ) I assume is made there , looks like really is .Anyway highly recommended . Ergonomics are fine for my large size hands. This knife looks more solid in reality than in the picture. Go for it folks , it is worth every penny .
