Enrique Pena Custom Knives

Enrique Pena Custom Knives are so precise and utterly perfect that the best, and maybe only, comparison to them would be the custom work of Sergey Rogovets. Anyone familiar with custom knives knows that this is about as high an honor as it gets because Sergey's work borders on clockwork precision. Enrique has been making knives since 2006 and began strictly with traditional style folders. Now that he has transitioned into the tactical knife game, and transitioned quite nicely in our opinion, he's really beginning to take off. The precise fit, finish, blending of materials, appearance and design are exactly what you look for in a custom handmade knife.

This is Enrique's second production model produced by Reate Knives in China and it is absolutely spectacular. It's a smaller, more EDCable version of his custom Diesel model built to the highest quality standards using premium materials and methods. The blade is Bohler M390 stainless steel and rides on ceramic caged bearings with a ceramic detent. The handle is titanium with carbon fiber scales and a bolster lock design which we find to be very pleasant to use. The knife also features a stainless steel lock insert for the longevity of use and all the hardware is blue anodized titanium. The ergonomics are fantastic and it possesses the flipping action you've come to know and love from both Reate Knives and Enrique's own handmade masterpieces.

You might ask, what does X Series stand for? Well, it is a designation Enrique is giving to knives designed and marketed by him but built by a third party company. They're built in a production environment while still maintaining the highest quality standards to bring you a more affordable knife. This X Series is not to be confused for a mid-tech or a custom piece. It is totally a production knife and a high-quality one at that.

Pros: Blade Material, Overall Quality, Handle Material, Handle Feel, Pocket Clip, None
Cons: Weight
Really great knife
This knife is beautiful! I knew the second I saw it, that it’d be my next purchase. Top of the line materials and has a special look to it that stands out from others. You wouldn’t believe how smooth the knife is, as well as the action. The only thing I would change is would run the carbon fiber all the way to the end, instead of stopping at the pivot. It definitely is heavier than I expected, but it’s nice because it’s tough, not fragile. I would absolutely receive this knife to anybody, if they don’t mind spending $300.
