The Edict continues Gerber’s history of American-made tactical knives designed to be used by soldiers and police officers. This knife has a full size tanto-style blade with a fine edge and no serrations, allowing for maximum piercing and slicing capabilities. The Edict Folding Clip Knife is proudly made in Portland, OR.

Structural Integrity and a Secure Grip

The Edict’s blade is made of premium 154CM steel for excellent edge retention and features a black ceramic coating which maximizes corrosion resistance while minimizing reflective surfaces. Thumb studs allow for quick one-handed blade deployment, and the knife’s lock back closing mechanism provides structural integrity in heavy-duty applications. The glass-filled nylon handle is built with a large palm swell, a finger guard for heavy-duty work, and a rubberized diamond texture for a secure grip in all weather conditions.

Pros: Blade Material, Handle Feel, Ease of Opening, Lock Type, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, None
Cons: Blade Sharpness, Overall Quality
Lightweight, ergonomic, solid, great steel, not the best fit and finish
Not the best fit and finish, but strong and safe lock back design and exellent blade steel. The handle which is not the prettiest one is VERY ergonomic, nice rubber inserts - overall handling and feel of this knife in hand is just great - it feels glued to your hand even when it's wet or dirty.Mine came dull like butterknife but after reprofiling the cuting edge (and that's what I always do with my new knives - factor cutting edge never matches my standards) it cuts great, holds it's edge comparable to any 154CM benchmade I had. And that's good :)Best thing about this knife is how lightweight it is! Totally disappears in your pocket. Over 9 cm of blade with such lightweight design is just amazing.

Cons: Ease of Opening
I have been carrying and using this knife for about a year and a half now. I have owned many Gerber knives in my time, but I am going to go ahead and say that this is absolutely one of the most reliable, well built, just all around tough folding knifes Gerber has ever built. The 154CM blade takes a beautiful edge at fairly low sharpening efforts, but holds that same edge long after. The handle is honestly one of my favorites out of my entire knife collection. The rubber overmolded glass-filled nylon handle is firm, yet very grippy, and far too satisfying to work with.I think it should be noted that the fact that this knife has a very sturdy deep-carry pocket clip is just the icing on the cake. Never once has it fallen out of my pocket, even in the craziest of conditions and tasks.I am such a fan of this knife that I will be buying the newer bead-blasted variant for my father, as he is the one who introduced me to Gerber Legendary Blades so long ago. The best part though...This beautiful knife was constructed right where I live: beautiful Portland, Oregon.

Very Nice
Got this model a couple of months ago and I really like it. It's my primary EDC. Its got some size to it but fits in pocket fine. The blade is viciously sharp. Deploying the blade is stiff right now but will loosen with time. I really like the handle. Very comfortable and well made. Has a textured rubber inlay that improves grip and reduces friction. For the money, it's a good deal.
