Kershaw Knives

The Kershaw Leek just may be the ideal EDC. With its 3-inch blade, the Leek is a good-sized knife, but not too big. The slim design makes it easy to carry and its razor-sharp blade of high-performance Sandvik 14C28N means it can take care of a full range of cutting tasks.

The blade is a modified drop-point, so it’s a good slicing knife, while the slim tip gives it piercing capability and the ability to do detailed work. For a partially serrated blade, choose the 1660ST Leek. Like other “Onion” knives, the Leek features the SpeedSafe ambidextrous assisted opening system.

Whether you’re left-handed or right-handed, just pull back on the blade protrusion or push outward on the thumbstud and the Leek’s blade is ready to go to work. In addition to its 14C28N blade, this Leek features a handle of pure stainless steel that gives it a clean, sleek look. For confident blade use, a super-secure frame lock keeps the blade locked during use and a Tip-Lock slider locks the blade closed when folded. The pocketclip can be configured for tip-up or tip-down carry and the handle is drilled to accept a lanyard.

Great knife
I own four of these knives - two in my bugout bags and two for daily use. I like them small to fit in my pocket with no discomfort. Easy and quick to sharpen. Make a great compliment to my small Sig. Plan to give an Onion to my grandchildren when each reaches the appropriate age. Go with the serrated blade, it's worth the extra cost.

Kersaw Ken Onion Leak
Awesome knife, I've used it for field dressing, cooking, salt water fishing and multiple other needs. It's small enough to carry in a pocked (folded) yet long enough to be used as more than a box cutter. Blade keeps a sharp edge. Clip is a plus. Only down side, I use it so much I forgot where I put it last (field dressing). The only down side is that the tip is a little on the thin side and becomes easily bent if you are not careful with it.

Call the plumber! I Gotta Leek!
Or maybe I should call the Iron Chef. Old age is such a wonderful thing. This was the second Kershaw that I purchased, the first being a Cryo. I really like this. I scooped up several more on eBay. So why the three star rating? The handle is way too slick for my liking. I don't think I could patina it by leaving it in an onion. (Not Ken) But maybe if I left it in raw honey overnight, the traction would improve. I'm OK with the safety. The one-handed opening is great. My non-eBay one was perfectly centered. They are very easy to get sharp, DMT stones or SSM. It's also a bit on the thin side for my liking. Even tho I have some dislikes about this, I have no regrets about the purchase. I really do like the knife.
