Kershaw Knives

Custom details without the custom price—that's the Injection 3.5 from Kershaw and custom knifemaker Todd Rexford.

From the tip of its classic drop-point blade to its 3D-machined G10 handle, the Injection offers streamlined good looks. Details like decorative pivot hardware and machined thumbstuds give the Injection a high-end custom look and feel. The G10 handle features six incised cutouts on each side, letting you see through to the stainless steel liners. The G10 is slightly textured for a secure grip. Even the backspacer is cool; it's chamfered (cut at an angle) on the back end. Another nice detail is the inset lanyard pin so nothing interrupts the smooth line of the knife. And all of this at a price that definitely won't break the bank.

The 3 1/2-in. blade gives you a little extra length for taking on larger tasks. Built of high-performance 8Cr13MoV, it comes razor-sharp and holds its edge well. The manual opening is smooth and easy. Once open, the blade is secured with a steel locking liner. The pocketclip is reversible for left- or right-handed carry. Want a slightly smaller knife? Check out the Injection 3.0.
  • Manual - There is no mechanical assist, such as SpeedSafe, used to open the folding knife. It opens the classic, old-school way.
  • Liner Lock - Locks the blade open during use; one side of the knife's steel "liner," the steel plate to which the handle scales are attached, moves into position behind the blade to securely lock it open.
  • Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.

A 2 year review, 20 knives later
I have purchased about 20 of the Kershaw Inductions for personal use and gifts. I will be purchasing about 20 more, this time all 3.5 models. There are plenty of good things to say about both the 3.0 and 3.5 knives, but the 3.5 has more weight to the blade and is easier and more satisfying at the open. Weight and size difference is insignificant to me. If you have larger hands, it also has more handle to grab firmly to. The reviews concerning the tightness of the blade and the clip is soon remedied with use and the satisfaction just improves. I don't want a sloppy knife, do you? Like other coated surfaces, the blade will stain a bit if it isn't kept clean (or you lose it outside for awhile like I did), but the knife hasn't lost any coating which does it's job with corrosion. Actually, it looks good a bit tarnished if you don't consider it jewelry... A great knife I edc carry for about 2 years. If you can sharpen a knife, you'll love the blade steel which gets quite sharp and is easy to resharpen and holds edge quite well. Not a $200 survival or hard use work blade, but edc excellent. Don't be concerned with any negatives, regardless of where it's made, etc., it is what it is. It's a great buy and you will be amazed at the product value and enjoyment of use.

Outstanding knife for the price. I was looking for a working knife to use in the yard and at a price point that I wouldn't mind losing. This fits the bill perfectly. Comfortable fit with a great lock and no blade play. A winner.

Bought this for my sister for her birthday. Also got her a Spyderco Tenacious(green with black blade) but wanted to get her this one so she could practice with both the spydie hole and thumb studs. I've had one of these for a while and am pleased with it. This one is even better than mine. Opens and closes easily, sharp out of the box, no blade play, early lockup, and she likes the way it feels. For $14.95 you can't beat it. Even for 2-3 times the price it would be a bargain. The best thing though is that hopefully I have infected another one with the knife virus. Thanks Knife Center for your as usual great service.
