EMERSON + KERSHAW MEANS TOP FUNCTION, FIT & FINISH

Kershaw Knives and Emerson Knives have joined forces on a series of knives that combine the precision engineering of Kershaw with Emerson's uncompromising functional design.

The CQC-6K features a modified clip-point blade for versatile cutting ability. The blade has two finishes: a satin finish on the grind and a stonewashed finish on the upper. The handle's front scale of textured G-10 offers a secure grip and the handle's stainless steel back has a solid frame lock.

The CQC-6K is a manual opener using either the thumb disk or the patented Emerson "wave shaped feature." This opening feature enables the knife to be opened as it is removed from the pocket. By the time the knife has been fully withdrawn from the pocket, the blade is deployed and ready for use. A small wave-shaped tab on the top of the blade is built to catch on the pocket seam, opening the knife as it comes out of the pocket. This instant-open feature is a favorite among military, rescue, and law enforcement knife users.

This knife design based off the Emerson Endeavor model without the thumb hole and the pocketclip is reversible for left- or right-handed carry.
Features
  • Manual - There is no mechanical assist, such as SpeedSafe, used to open the folding knife. It opens the classic, old-school way.
  • Frame Lock - A portion of the handle (the knife frame) moves behind the blade to lock it into position during use. This is a safety feature of the knife.
  • Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.

8CR13 Stainless Steel
Considered a value steel, 8Cr13 steel provides adequate corrosion resistance but with slightly more carbon than AUS-8, it will sharpen up and hold an edge better.
G10 Handles
G10 Handles
Formed in a sheet under high pressure by combining fiberglass and an epoxy resin binder. These handles are lightweight and shaped to ensure a solid grip.

Pros: Handle Material, Overall Quality, Lock Ease of Use, Handle Feel, Lock Type, Ease of Opening, None
Cons: Pocket Clip
Great knife for the price
EDC with several others. Feels good, works great, very smooth. Love the design and the quality of this knife. Flips opens easily with a flip of the thumb or opens smooth and easy when opening with slow manual motion. The pocket trigger works well with just a little practice. Nothing bad to say about this knife except the pocket clip is a little difficult to clip on the pocket, but not that big of deal.

A $30 Emerson knife
This is a $30 knife so you won't compare it to a ZT Emerson or original Emerson knife which is 5-10 times more expensive. It is a $30 budget knife made of budget steel. 8Cr13MoV is a decent budget steel which hold an edge fairly well. The grind is slightly uneven and slightly rough but this shoudn't be a problem and can easily be fixed. The knife come razor sharp out of the box and incredibly smooth. The wave feature works flawless. The tip is not the finest best pointy one but it is still adequate pointy for any puncturing task. If it is a $150 knife, I would expect more but for $30, you can't go wrong with this.
