EMERSON + KERSHAW MEANS TOP FUNCTION, FIT & FINISH

Kershaw Knives and Emerson Knives have joined forces on a series of knives that combine the precision engineering of Kershaw with Emerson's uncompromising functional design.

The CQC-6K features a modified clip-point blade for versatile cutting ability. The blade has two finishes: a satin finish on the grind and a stonewashed finish on the upper. The handle's front scale of textured G-10 offers a secure grip and the handle's stainless steel back has a solid frame lock.

The CQC-6K is a manual opener using either the thumb disk or the patented Emerson "wave shaped feature." This opening feature enables the knife to be opened as it is removed from the pocket. By the time the knife has been fully withdrawn from the pocket, the blade is deployed and ready for use. A small wave-shaped tab on the top of the blade is built to catch on the pocket seam, opening the knife as it comes out of the pocket. This instant-open feature is a favorite among military, rescue, and law enforcement knife users.

This knife design based off the Emerson Endeavor model without the thumb hole and the pocketclip is reversible for left- or right-handed carry.
Features
  • Manual - There is no mechanical assist, such as SpeedSafe, used to open the folding knife. It opens the classic, old-school way.
  • Frame Lock - A portion of the handle (the knife frame) moves behind the blade to lock it into position during use. This is a safety feature of the knife.
  • Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.

8CR13 Stainless Steel
8CR13 Stainless Steel
Considered a value steel, 8Cr13 steel provides adequate corrosion resistance but with slightly more carbon than AUS-8, it will sharpen up and hold an edge better.
G10 Handles
G10 Handles
Formed in a sheet under high pressure by combining fiberglass and an epoxy resin binder. These handles are lightweight and shaped to ensure a solid grip.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, Handle Feel, Ease of Opening, Pocket Clip, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material
Cons: None
Good Quality that rivals the more expensive brands
Read a lot of mixed reviews and own a couple Emersons. For the price I thought I would bite the bullet because I liked the blade design for it's simplicity. I am not disappointed. Aside from being stiff when it arrived (which was correctly simply by removing a slight amount of torque on the attachement screw) I seen no difference between it and the quality of my other Emerson knives. I do prefer a liner lock, so I do give Emerson points for that, but that is merely my preferance and did not feel it warranted a lack of a star. All and all, this is an excellent knife with the same quality as many more expensive knives.

Great knife at a low cost
Got this knife a few weeks ago and works great for the applications used for. Only down side is wish the knife had G10 on both sides of the grip
