Kizer Cutlery Ki4479 Scot Matsuoka Kala Flipper 3.75" S35VN Drop Point Blade, Contoured Titanium Handles
KUKI4479: Ki4479 Scot Matsuoka Kala Folding Knife
The Ki4479 Kala flipper by Kizer Cutlery is a collaborative project between Kizer and custom knifemaker Scot Matsuoka of Koloa Duck Knives. It is a production version of Scot's custom Kala flipper, a blade we absolutely love at the KnifeCenter as it's slender yet large enough for hard-use tactical and EDC tasks. It features a 3.75" drop point blade made from CPM-S35VN stainless steel with an ever-so-slight recurve to the edge. The bearing pivot system allows for smooth blade opening, as with all Kizer knives. The ergonomics are absolutely fantastic and the thin profile of the matte silver finished titanium handle makes this knife carry very discreetly in the pocket. The milled hole pattern matches the custom which it is based on extremely well. It features a lockbar overtravel prevention mechanism, replaceable steel insert and is a great sized folder for every task that is built with a quality anyone can appreciate.
Kizer uses high-tech wire EDM machines to cut the parts. This method is slower than laser or water jet but Kizer feels quality is worth the wait. Each component in Kizer knives is precision machined and engineered to the finest tolerances. The final fit, finish, action, and sharpness of each knife is achieved entirely by hand, employing the irreplaceable craftsmanship developed by generations of cutlery masters. Dedicated craftsman honoring the long-term goal of making the best knives possible is what Kizer brings to you.
