About LamsonSharp™
Lamson & Goodnow, maker of LamsonSharp™ cutlery, is the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States. Lamson & Goodnow was established in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts in 1837, and rapidly became the premier cutler in the United States.

But as the American passion for home and hearth grew, so did Lamson & Goodnow.

In 1999, Lamson & Goodnow purchased TreeSpirit™, a company that handcrafts professional-quality hardwood cutting boards, bowls, kitchen utensils, and kitchen care products.

HotSpot™ silicone for the home was added to the Lamson & Goodnow family of brands in 2002. Unusual at the time, silicone is now regarded as a staple of the modern kitchen for its high heat resistance, superior flexibility, and nonstick properties.

Pros: Design, Sharpenability, Construction, None
Cons: Sharpness, Material Quality, Durability
Could be better.
I must admit some disappointment in this little knife. First, it was not sharp when it arrived (out of the box). I had to work to put an edge on it with a diamond stone sharpener. Second, it did not hold an edge very well requiring constant attention. And last, the rosewood began to loose its luster and was in need of some block-oil. On the positive side is the shape of the knife and the manner in which the steel tang fits into the rosewood handle with three rivets. Nicely done. It fits in your hand nicely and when sharp is an instrument that can be utilized with its full intention. Because of the rosewood handle you do not want to put this knife in the dishwasher or let it soak in water for any length of time. For the money, and if you don't mind giving it a lot of attention, its not a bad purchase - - but look around before you "pull the plug."
