Pros: Blade Material, Finish, Handle Material, Locking, Overall Quality, None
I wanted a black oxidized leatherman again, and find the supertool far more useful (at least for me) than the other styles, so this was perfect. This supertool 300 is more the suited for the military, the serrated blade is replaced with a punch like tool that would be useful unjamming weapons. It can also twist off and a barrel brush attachment can be added, but the brush is an extra accessory and not included. Also, instead of the file blade the normal leatherman 300 has, the black oxide version has a removable hacksaw blade which I find handy. What I like best is that the Philips and common screwdriver attachments are solid attachments, not the removable bits like the Surge and others use. These work much better than the bits and best of all, these won't fall out and get lost. The only item I'm not overly fond of is the sheath. Were I to attach it to a web belt or ruck sack this would be perfect, but on my belt I worry about the tool falling out. I would also have problems putting it back in the case but I attribute this to the newness of the sheath, and it is styled differently than what I am accustomed. Also, the website said the item was in stock when I ordered this, but apparently this was wrong. I had to wait a couple weeks past the estimated ship date before I received an email stating my order was finally shipping. Overall, I do like this tool, and it's cool cuz it's black.
