Matthew Lerch Custom Mako Frame Lock Flipper Knife 3.75" CPM-154 Drop Point Blade, Titanium Handles with Timascus Inlays and Clip
MLKMAK154TIM: Custom CPM-154 Mako Folding Knife
Matthew Lerch Custom Knives
The Mako by Matthew Lerch is a stunning example of what can happen when this former watchmaker and world-class purveyor of handmade sharp art puts his mind to everyday carry tactical knives.
The Mako plays in the titanium frame lock flipper genre, but with a twist! In addition to a hardened steel insert, the lockbar also features a user adjustable detent, a rarity even among custom knives. Using a .027 Allen wrench, you can adjust the strength of the detent to tune the flipping action to precisely where you want it.
The blade itself locks up solidly, and features compound hollow grinds with a long swedge on the spine. Hand rubbed satin flats add the perfect amount of contrast to the high polished grinds. The profile is beautiful and highly functional, flowing into the full-size handle. The timascus pocket clip and inlays on the front and back reinforce the aquatic environs of this knife's namesake. Other details that set the Mako apart include a hidden lanyard hole in the ridged backspacer and the maker’s mark stamped on the inside of the spacer.
With beauty and utility to spare, the Lerch Mako makes one heck of a statement if you are looking to incorporate it into your EDC or your collection!
