1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel (it will rust) and most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.

Buy this knife
I bought this thing to use hard and it takes it ..opens cans ,batons ,all the stuff you think you shouldn't do with a knife it will take ..it's not overwhelming heavy and really sturdy the black coat on the blade goes to hell quickly and the back curve on top isn't sharpened like it says but doesn't inhibit function at all sharpening is easy and you can get really sharp if you have moderate skill , (its sharp out the box ) if you fine tune the edge it's even better ..When you take or wear off the blade paint it is carbon steel and will rust so proper care is the needed , I polished it after taking the paint off and looks tops ...tip I use chap stick for rust prevention but for under 40$ this is a knife that will take it and keep going ..make a kydex sheath for this thing and you'll have it forever buy it

SP2 A/F Survival knive.
The best all around knife in the program for my use. The blade is not to long to get in your way, but well balanced with a good spine that can take good beating on if needed. The blade can be sharpened for skinning and does a good job at it. At 80 years old and a Navy veteran Ontario knives have been a favorite for me from way back. You have your choice of what your needs may be and they are good knives built in the USA.This one just happens to be a favorite.Hk
