ESEE Knives
The ESEE Junglas machete features a 10.38" textured black powder coated 1095 high carbon steel full tang blade. Removable canvas micarta handles with hammer pommel and lanyard hole. Black molded Kydex sheath with Cordura backing adjustable retainer, pommel cover and lashing holes. Cordura backing has MOLLE compatible strapping. While 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not proper cared for--especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH.

Micarta Handles
Micarta Handles Micarta is a compressed layered composite sealed within a thermosetting plastic which creates a strong, attractive material that is impervious to water.
1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel (it will rust) and most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.

Cant be beaten!
After getting used to the weight of the Junglas you can make your way through just about anything rather effortlessly. There are a lot of options in this category but there is very little that will give you as much bang for your buck as this blade. Came beautifully sharp and immaculately finished. Mine has been through hell in the last 24 months and even collision with a Scrapyard 1311 smashing in the forward apine and belly during a tree lopping exercise required nothing more than a run over a stone to buff out the small indents. Wouldn't trade it for anything!

Esee Cant Be Beat!
I own this one and now the ESEE 5 both are great wood/bushcraft knives. Backed up by ESEE's lifetime no questions warranty (Life of the knife not owner). I know who im going to purchase all my fixed blade knives from now on from. Now heres the rub, the knife is a beast it weighs in at a little over 2 lbs but its balanced to feel lighter. If you have a problem with thick heavy knives make sure you realize that these things are on the heavier end and thick (3/16") but if your looking for a tough as nails finish, blade and handle, you found it. Be sure to coat these with a thin layer of gun or knife oil if you expose them to moisture as they are not stainless steel and will get a thin layer of rust. They are capable of being sharpened easily enough in the field if need be. There are custom G10 handle scales available if your prefer G10.

Great woodscraft knife.
I keep this on my pack for search & rescue work.Great woodscraft knife. I had a RTAC II that I sold to a buddy and replaced it with this knife. Very similar configuration, but the back of the handle on the ESEE is tapered slightly smaller, which fits my hand better.
