Description
REAUGMCF: Kirby Lambert Augustus Folding Knife, Marble Carbon Fiber
Reate Knives

Kirby Lambert is one of the most sought-after custom knifemakers in the world as his pieces are extremely hard to come by. If you're not lucky enough to get drawn in a lottery at one of the shows he attends, then you have little chance in scoring one. The same can be said for his production knives - there's so few of them around and none of them will hold a candle to the quality you see here. So, for all intents and purposes, this production model is your way to get a mid-tech level knife from Kirby Lambert for a very competitive price.

The Augustus model is our favorite Kirby design, combining his teardrop handle shape with a wicked compound ground clip point blade and a recurve edge for maximum cutting power. It has the look of a fine piece of art and the feeling of a true tactical blade and Reate knocked this one out of the park. The signature handle shape, jimped thumb ramp, and dual finger grooves combine for a very solid non-slip grip. Kirby has developed one of the most comfortable, usable handle shapes on the market, so you'll see some sort of variation of it in nearly all of his knives. It's made of titanium with your choice of carbon fiber, green canvas Micarta, or marble carbon fiber inlays. Every blade will be Bohler M390 stainless steel and the flipping action will be on point. The design incorporates jimping on the flipper tab and ceramic ball bearings, in addition to a crisp detent for that smooth, satisfying opening thwack. Ti Connector custom titanium hardware rounds out the elegant looks of the Augustus and will ensure tight tolerances for years to come.

Cons: Overall Quality, Lock Type
DO NOT BUY
After owning this knife for a few months I have become disappointed with it for a couple different reasons. First, the lockup is way too early. It locks up at 10%. Second, the backspacer allows for some weird flex between the Ti scales. It doesnt feel like a $400 dollar knife. VERY DISSAPOINTED
