Schrade

Here at KnifeCenter, we believe that Schrade makes some of the best quality inexpensive folders in the knife business. Schrade has always been a brand for everybody, whether it is traditional folders or these great high-tech models. You can't beat the price and the warranty behind it.

The Schrade 003 is a tactically built utility flipper with both style and function. The handle is comfortably textured polypropylene for a secure hold in multiple grips. The thumb studs work equally as well as the flipper and you have a full-size 3.51" spear point blade. Form and function are achieved in unison with this knife, it's an excellent design. Though the pocket clip is stuck in a single position, it is deep carry which we like and we are excited here at knifecenter.com to bring you this knife which we feel is an excellent value for the price!

Clip problem fixed
I found that the problem with sliding the clip onto you pocket can be solved by putting a piece of electrical tape on the scale just under the clip. Then is will slide easily instead of catching on the clingy handle. It works quite well as an EDC now.

Nice knife but very rubbery handle
So, this is a nice knife but it is problematic for me. The description says in various places polypropylene, glass filled, and Zytel for the handle. When I got the knife is was surprised to find that the handle has a very clingy rubber like consistency. I've never experienced PP or Zytel (nylon) to be rubbery. Maybe they can make it that way, but it's not what I expected. This is more like Kraton from what I know of that. The problem for me is that I had wanted to clip this into my back pocket. The handle material is so clingy that it is almost impossible to get the clip onto my pocket. I also feel that if I use it as an EDC as I wanted to, it will wear out my pockets in very short order. Otherwise this is a nice knife in every respect. I like the flipper function, but it only opens the knife about half way, no matter how briskly I push the tab. That is okay as you can get it the rest of the way with the stud. It is one hand operable. Just that I've seen YouTubes of flippers that open fully with just a push of the tab. The hing on this is probably a little too stiff for that. Okay, I take that back. I just got it to open in one flick by pointing it down and flipping at the same time that I activate the flipper tab. The blade is substantial and locks quite rigidly. It is a handy size for EDC if you can clip it to your pocket, which is not so easy--a little big for pocket carry without clipping it.
